Sorry for the late reply. I was adding snaps to keep the belt from falling and then came up with the idea of the one for the gloves. I haven’t seen it on any other jackets but I was just trying to put the gloves where I keep them with other jackets with an open inside pocket
I put that there to hold gloves inside the jacket. Keeps the gloves a lot warmer than an outer pocket on stops so you don’t waste body heat in the winter
I’ve had cross zips from Schott, Excelled, and Unik. The aero is significantly heavier built than any of the rest probably to an excessive degree. For cafes I have the brooks and an 80’s schott 141. The Brooks is significantly lighter. Just trying to help make a meaningful weight range to gauge...
My aero j106 cxl hh in 48 long is 9lb .8 oz and would definitely be considered a heavy leather jacket. For comparison I just weighed my size 54l 70’s Brooks cafe racer and it weighs 3lbs and 9.2oz and I would consider it very light weight
The real photographer in the house is working today but she said she’d take better pictures the next day we’re both home during daylight. Its kind of hard to capture the color changes
Fair enough. I haven’t been keeping up with the forum so didn’t know some of these issues have been discussed. Back when I was researching to purchase my jacket I found lots of great info here, but didn’t see anything on these issues so figured I should contribute
Check out pro-keds. They are a little harder to find but are a more substantial chick taylor type sneaker that fits better for me. Not strictly sneakers, but fulfilling the same role outside of athletics Palladium have been around forever too
I’ve seen some pretty wild looking pairs of boots along those lines in western wear stores in predominantly mexican neighborhoods. You can also readily buy metal toe tips to add to plainer boots. Dingo and boulet made a lot of those sort of boots years ago if you are looking for vintage
There wasn’t too much reason to be overly concerned with how I was dressing the past couple years so I haven’t been around. Now I’ve been lurking again the past couple days planning out an ensemble for a wedding I’m in and figured I should update this thread while I’m at it. I’m not sure if I’ve...
Im not planning on giving up on the aero as a riding jacket bt it is nice to hear about other options. With a woolrich shirt under the aero its warm enough and a few extra line 24 snaps have solved the belt issue.
I have been thinking that i might look into getting the cuffs narrowed next...
Photo2u: do you think the cut of the dianese jacket would work with more upright bars? I tried a few vanson and alpine stars models and found they seem to be cut for clipons or drag bars. I have mini apes over an extended fork putting my controls a little below shoulder hight and found the...
Still trying to figure out how to reply to specific comments without quoting them. Ksozay: ill have to check thrift stores for an lapd coat, but id say they’ll be rare here in NYC, especially in XXL.
Honestly in terms of layout and useability the Schott is almost a perfect riding jacket. Warm...
Regarding the D pocket, in hindsight I probably would have requested the layout of the Aero Daytona. The left side entrance to the main pocket would be a lot more useful while holding open a throttle with the right hand
Hi. Longtime lurker but first time poster. I found this forum extremely valuable when I was deciding on the details of a new motorcycle jacket and figured that i should help other prospective purchasers by reviewing it.
I ended up ordering an Aero J106 in Brown FQHH with detachable Mouton...
