Come now Torpedo.....you know you want one!
And yes...the search for a decent grey medium brim fedora continues. I do have a charcoal Stetson trilby and a Sovereign Deluxe stingy but something with the dimensions of the brown Mallory I posted yesterday would suit me fine.
Stowaway sweatband shots
My camera doesn't do the zoom in thing well. But for those who like such things, here what's on - and under - the sweat.

Stetson Stowaway
In my endless search for a grey fedora I spotted and purchased this online. Only when it arrived did I realise that it was a crushable - and what a crushable it is! This has to be the lightest of all my felts and even makes my Borsalino feel like a tank in comparison. Yet they...
I gotta say that for a group of folks who pride ourselves on bucking the fashion trend, some of us worry an awful lot about whether we conform to some other folk's ideas of what's fashionable.
Do fedora's work with casual gear? Take a look at the happy hatted folks above.

Many thanks Scion. It's fast become a favourite of mine. The funny thing is that if it had been correctly described as 'brown' rather than 'gray' I would not even have bid on it.
Which would have been my loss.
Yep Mario - hence my late 40's/early 50's guess. In the aftermath of the takeover Stetson kept the same liner as Mallory used, with the one exception being the change to the establishment date. So, this lid belongs in that aftermath period somewhere.
Absolutely right! The only hat tougher than a felt is a hard hat - and they don't look so good outside a building site.
They were designed to be working hats and they will take any pounding you want to give them. The felt hat's natural enemies are moths and stains - and even most of the...
Many thanks RBH. Even with a wide ribbon?!
I think those proportions are what suit me best. I've forgiven this hat for being brown. It was a pretty good pick up for around $15.
