I have two Stop Staring dresses. The first is the Lucy design size M: a denim halter with cherry applique - the pic is just for reference. The second is the starlet design size L (I think, it might be a M). Asking $25 each!
The blouse has a few small holes in it - the most noticeable is around the snap just above the peplum - someone too big for the blouse tried to wear it, and the silk tore a bit. It needs repair!
EDIT: also I just posted some Stop Staring dresses in the classifieds, modern size 6-8
The lovely NOS blouse I purchased just a few weeks ago was only good for one day at the office - the underarm on one side has ripped. I wonder if it's worth trying to repair or if the silk is just too delicate. Any tips/experiences to share?
Daisy! I tried on both the red sheer 40s dress and that slip last Saturday! So funny. The dress looked really frumpy on me though. Did you see Bobby's shoes? He had some great stuff when I was there.
Kerastase, Kerastase, Kerastase
Kerastase products are the only hair products that actually do what they claim to do. They are very expensive, but use them and your hair will become manageable and soft and lovely...

The cilantro tasting like soap thing is actually very common. Something like 25% of the population tastes soap when they eat cilantro. So weird!
I have been looking for a nice leather satchel or shopper to use as a bookbag when I start classes in the fall. I am having a very hard time finding something structured (curse you, slouchy hobo style!), classic, and less than $300. Can anyone suggest anything? What did college/grad students...
There's nothing wrong with judging someone as long as you are willing to accept that sometimes your judgements will be wrong.
As for a "generally agreed-upon set of ideas as to what constitutes acceptable behavior", it will never happen, because the ideas will never be agreed upon...
You should try Aerosoles as well, I can personally vouch for the Metinee style, even though it may not look it it is SO COMFY!!

Very pretty, all of them - and I almost bid on that first one!
As for the blue - she could get away with wearing it in a non-vintage crowd but I would hesitate to suggest she wear it to a vintage-knowledgeable crowd, it really does look like a nightgown. A very pretty one, to be sure!
I was totally into the Beatles in Jr High/High School. I had something like 5 Beatles posters in my room, all their CDs and even some rare LPs...which I played on my 70s record player. SO RETRO!! lol

Not having a tattoo is the new having a tattoo.
That said, hearing "in the 40s only whores and sailors had tattoos" as justification for disliking tattoos is completely distasteful to me. There were some social injustices that were the norm in the 40s (against women and minorities for...
