Believe it or not, Iowa has had some pretty famous people living here including: Johnny Carson, John Wayne, Elmer and Fred Maytag, John Deere, "Dear Abby" sisters, Glenn Miller (the musician), Jesse James, Wyatt Earp, Buffalo Bill, George Washington Carver, Herbert Hoover, Ringling Brothers. For...
I would think Indy is a little more important than the numbers show.
Although, I must admit, I came here without knowledge of Indy and only recently purchased the movies to "catch-up" with everyone else. :o
After looking through some of these, I better add a rider to my original response:
+Chuck Palahniuk - All materials I've read by him are amazing. He's my second favorite modern writer (just behind...)
+Hunter S Thompson - I know many conservative and baby-boomer folks that really don't...
I have three favorites (off the top of my head):
1. Washington Irving
2. Edgar Allen Poe
3. Marquis de Sade
I think the first two are awesome at telling stories and using description to paint a scene. Both of them make me want to read all through the night.
Sade is awesome not only for...
It doesn't matter what period you prefer, it doesn't matter what subject grabs your interest; you're probably fond of reading (I mean honestly, you're on a text-rich message board).
So who are your favorite authors? Try to list at least two and no more than five (yeah, I know, you'll have to...
I'm just curious to see if any members have made these a part of their business casual/casual wardrobe, and what feedback and/or wisdom they might like to share.
I recently purchased a pair of cordovan Dockers Gordon captoe Oxfords at my local Famous Footwear. They have some thin padding...
Just to comment on the first post...
I was laid off last week, too. I'm going to take a shot at a better paying, likely less secure job next week.
I recall hearing someone on the radio, or perhaps on public television, commenting on how today's worker typically does not stay with a company...
I'm not sure I like this new setup.
On only one account, it's good because I've dealt with deadbeat sellers and I have to wait until almost 90 days to leave them negative feedback (which I've done very sparingly and only after all other means of communication were exhausted).
Otherwise...
You know, I hadn't mentioned in my previous post my intention for looking up various lacings.
Does anyone know what lacings are more "formal" or which lacings are more Golden era?
I just stumbled upon this site by chance and found it quite interesting. When I wanted to post a thread all about it in the FL, I did a search first. ;)
So let's *BUMP* this!
I believe this "fashion shift" is a blessing and a curse.
It's wonderful to have available more suspenders, trilbies and vests. It's nice to be recognized as a person of taste and style who is "leading the way" so to speak. And it's very nice to not find yourself questioned EVERY time you...
I won't detail the many "green" things I do for financial necessity's sake only, but I will throw these two interesting things out there for your viewing pleasure.

And as some of you may have already seen these nifty little...
How appropriate that my 600th post should be this one. :)
I found the Lounge looking for suit and hat information, etiquette and misc. satorial information. I stumbled upon a link to the FL and I've been here since.
I love this place! :eusa_clap
