I will indeed provide a report! The '43 is already on its way.
I expect the '43 to be roomy given the pit to pit measurement but of course more fitted at the shoulders. I still plan to wear my '65 jackets. How can I not? They are just too cool. I'll be fine with looking like I'm wearing a...
Not sure that is accurate as I too wear my Woolly Pullysweaters with jeans, and I'm not a Marine. My Father was, so maybe that counts? Or perhaps it's because I empathize with the Marines, having suffered their entire existence under the oppressive thumb of the Navy.
LL Bean has a civilian take on the woolypully in merino wool. I have two, they're really good sweaters, and really cheap for merino wool.

They also have it in a henley style, which is what I have...
I was gifted one from my wife at Christmas in a beautiful grey colour. It’s a very comfortable sweater. I was a bit apprehensive about wearing wool as I usually can’t manage, but the merino is quite wearable for me.
Question for the forum...
I recently found this woolypully for sale on poshmark. I liked the color, so I bought it. The seller's photos showed what looked like OD knit body with khaki patches, and I thought the colors looked great together.
When it arrived, I was disappointed to find...
Here are two search threads, while not exactly Irish Fisherman sweaters, are warm sweaters. Maybe you can find what you want in one of the threads. Also the RAF roll neck sweaters are warm. There are threads about them which can be found using the search feature using that term...
Guppy,
I’m sorry I haven’t replied to this much earlier but I’ve been having a short break from the Forum.
Yesterday I wore my Moss Green Woolly Pully from Outdoor Knitwear. The elbow and shoulder patches are noticeably darker green than the sweater itself - not quite two tone but 1.5 tone, you...
Glorious walking sticks that you have showcased. I know that you will be warm in WoolyPullysweaters, well topped with fedoras and steady with your special canes as you are being brave and strong in your daily challenges. I wish I had something smart and helpful to say but I am at a loss for...
Wow Eric you said plenty. I really appreciate the kind words. I have been on this website for awhile now and I have really come to appreciate the crowd very much. I've got many interests that surround fashion and style but not many people who share the same passion. It is nice to share with like...
If I were you, I would wear plain flat sweaters with the leather jacket, I love leather too, I currently own a genuine leather vest from, maybe 50 years ago.
How very unpatriotic of you. ...! More seriously, although I have worn Breton sweaters occasionally, I have very rarely departed from British military or fisherman's sweaters. This is not for nationalistic reasons, but reasons of design and aesthetics. The British WP is simply unbeatable and...
I was not being unpatriotic, infact I was given the Swedish Navy Sweater for free, It is very good and makes a change, although I agree with your comments about the British WPs, which are fantastic, unbeatable jerseys. (In fact as this is a typical cold and wet UK bank holiday weekend, I am...
Hello,
for sub sweater enthusiasts, ebay has two cool specimens from the time of the Second World War.
Issued under the slogan:
Military WW2 Royal Navy Roll Neck Sweaters Jumpers Uniform Naval Arctic (5216)
By the way, to Mariner:
I saw the auctions of your submarine jersey. In one - some time...
Scrounged around for books and commando sweaters, busted flush but a tip that a consignment shop on Hale Street just up
the block from my ex-Marine tailor who'll patch the frayed orphan I still wear, may have received a military issue Canadian commando,
anatomically ripped but expertly repaired...
Hello
I am new in this topic. I would like to establish, which companies produced jumpers and jersey for the British MoD. It is about contractual sweaters.
So far I managed to establish such producers woolypully, that is Pattern 1955 and Jersey Man Heavy:
SD & Ltd. – years 50., 60.
Turner &...
