When logic takes over
I loved the movie to but logic got the best of me at the end. If the robot were so advanced and the inventor was so smart couldn't he have made his own generators rather than steal them from under the city????
I wanted to know if there is a proper way to dry a wet hat, I got caught in the rain yesterday and my felt western hats I always just let air dry on a peg.
Thats what I did with the fedora but I don't know if that is correct since it has the softer felt and snap brim.
How to age
Art,
Is there really a way you can date a hat? I have one Lee and the sweatband was too dry when it tried it on and the whole thing tore out. Is there some little hint on each hat to date it with or is it just style and overall appearance?
I was just curious about what the general age group is for this fine bunch of gents and dames? I always seem to be interested in things that people in their late 20's and early 30's think is silly or dumb.(What do they know--slackers) I don't want to offend anyone but for as long as I can...
My Pipes
I actually smoke a Savinelli Bings Favorite pipe,in conjuction with C & D Crooner tobacco, a blend formulated by Bing and a friend. No one smokes a pipe like BABABA-BING. I listen to his mellow tones daily in my car.
love that picture Matt where did you get it???
Its not pre it is 50
Well its exactly 1950, this is my 1950 GE Musaphonic model 431. I'm looking for a Tombstone type radio currently. It still plays nice and has that great eery glow and hum of the tubes.
Are there any pipe smokers in the lounge? I'm a new convert from cigars, and I wanted to know what type of tobacco every one enjoys. I've been trying a few and want more opinions.
Ive tried Peterson Golden Blend
Cornell and Diehl Crooner
and Peterson Sherlock Holmes
I wanted to know if the age old rules of attire are still going strong. Does one wear white after labor day and when is it time to hang up the panama and the spectators for the season? Also are the regional exceptions. I live in a rather warm area, does that mean a straw would be fashionible...
ME TOO
I like William Powell and have all the Thinman movies as well as a couple of other detective films and 3 other comidies. He's got great timing and wit.
I wear a 46S suit and I'm looking to get a couple of vinatge ones. I 'd like to be a 44s but you know how good cooking gets the better of you. I would also like to know the best resource for suit styles. I get stuff from the library all the time but the catalog reprints usually are mostly...
Does anyone out there use a vintage camera? I'm thinking about getting a vintage Kodak six-20 Jr Camera. I wanted to know how easy they are to use and can I get the film developed for a resonable cost. The film is about $6.00 a roll.
Thanks
Thanks alot Havershaw,
I might just take you up on that offer. I work in Mesa, on Main St.
Maybe after work someday I can meet you for awhile. Are there any really great stores in our area?, I've heard the one in Tuscon is good and I saw it on the news earlier this year. Thanks again.
I want to know a good place in or around Phoenix to get a hat cleaned and reblocked. I would also like to know the average cost of the service. I've been getting hats on ebay and they come a little off kilter.
Are there any good vintage stores in the area???
I have a general vest question. When were vest lapels dropped from the vest in a 3 piece suit and is there any reason that a vest shouldn't have a lapel? I have a bunch of vests but they all have lapesl, and I don't really want the expense of having them altered. :cool2:
