Oaklys have been my go to sunglasses for decades. I know some folks are not into the tacticool look, but they have so many frame and lens options. They have a selection called Wire. They are more of your classic sunglass style. Metal, not plastic. You can find them onsale and in so many stores...
I have looked at their jackets so many times. I just could not get over the vents on the biceps. I own a pair of the chaps and a vest. Excellent leather and never had any issues. And if you are in VA or West VA, you can always ride to their shop. They also host a few rides each year.

Oh wow. That's a wait in a half. Most casual jackets I own are either 50R or 50T depending on maker. My G-1s are military issue and are all a size 48. The bi-swing back helps there. My only A-2 is a US Authentic and it's a 50. So I am very curious to see and hear how your jacket will look. Nice...
I have six different MC jackets and a few G-1's and A-2's, and unless you are wearing them daily, in all sorts of weather conditions, you really don't need to do much to them. My Vanson Comet and Aero FQHH Half-belt have been soaked in downpours and needed nothing more than a towel dry. The only...
I hear ya. My first Indy jacket was a Wested, second hand distressed cow. It had the dreaded flying squirrel arms. But everything else was great. The next one was a dark lamb, made to measure from Wested. it was only $250 I think in 2005 dollars. My last was a Tony jacket. I called him up and...
You have to take into consideration that motorcycle jackets are meant to be on the short side just like pilot jackets. People who don't ride often say their MC jackets feel short. As a rider, if the jacket is too long, it will bunch up and feel uncomfortable when you ride. Having a bit of a drop...
The USMC and US Navy are both 100% wool. The US Navy has a lighter acrylic one as well. The current issue Navy ones are "Navy Blue" which is another way to say black. They did make one up until the late 90's in actual blue, but I think it had a v-neck.
I have wanted a pair of these since 2010 when I bought my first Triumph Thruxton. They have a few more styles now and the price seems pretty good.

One thing that some folks tend to forget when wearing and comparing how these jackets should fit is that they are designed to be worn over a flight suit with a t-shirt underneath. Modern flight suits are a bit thicker than ones in the past due to the flame retardant material. My G-1 fits great...
I have an Aero and a Vanson. The Aero is a HB in HH and the Vanson is a PLU3 from Thurston Bros in comp weight cow. The Areo HH is a little softer but great for blocking wind. The Vanson comp cow is a little stiff at first and blocks the wind as well, just not as good. With that being said, the...
