I was in a Lowes home improvement store yesterday and remembered this thread.
Looked for Naphtha, to see if they carried it. I found a "VM&P Naphtha" 1 gal. can that was a paint remover/dissolver for oily paints.
Only one clerk around, he wasn't familar with the product. I don't know if...
Sorry, new to Fedora Lounge......didn't realize making a friendly comment here would be so far out of line.
I'll look for the friendly comment thread....if there is such a thing.
Now...back to serious Hat business...
Really nice Jeep....Do you plan on keeping it a while?
I sold my last C J after the top got vandalized one to many times.
I still have a 1996 Cherokee, a plain jane model, I use for hitting the beach, home depot and when i want to be a bit laid back. Although at my age now, it's not so...

Thanks for the info....
The reason's for my questions is I kind of thought that by the time i read, researched and studied panama hats in order to gain the knowledge and experience you guys have I would may have missed an opportunity to take advantage of Panama Bob's sale.
I was under the...
How do you compare these "sale" hats to other panama's? What would be the normal going rate for a hat like these?
I have no clue as to what thread count corresponds to what price range and no clue as to what points make a good panama.
I'm not a big panama fan, but, I'm in Florida.....The summer heat and lifestyle seem to call for at least one.
Are all of these hats white? I'm more inclined to a natural color. From the website it looks like you can only select the size, box, and crown style.
When you have a hat sent out to replace the liner or sweatband, does the shop doing the work automaticly send back the old liner and/or sweatband?
Is that common practice or do you have to request them back?
There may be a more appropriate thread for this question...probably several in which it would fit.
Any oppinions about putting new liners and sweatbands in older hats as to taking away from the hats value because of removing Company logos, crests, and other information that may be imprinted...
It seems to me from doing some reading on various sites that "Milan" in indeed a wheat straw from an area in China that used to produce , I guess still do, some of the best straw hats in the world mainly because of the preperation of the straw and the attention to detail while weaving the...
A new question about an old post....
I now understand that Milan is the type of weave. I saw a Dobbs Milan with "Imported Venetian Straw" imprinted on the sweatband.
What kind of straw is Venetian straw and does this being on the sweatband have any indication of a time frame for dating...
Does anyone know info about this hat shop?

I have had some type or style of facial hair for over 40 years....mustache, beard, goatee, mustache and goatee.....even some Elvis sideburns at one time.
I'm somewhat of a newbie to wearing fedoras......
but, my beard never once started a fight with my fedora when I...
ebay continues to drop in my estimation...
Ran across similar incident this morning. Hat was listed as fur felt 6 3/4. In the description was 100% wool. in the photos described as 7 1/8. No size tag in the hat.
seller measured inside circumference at 21 1/2"
didn't get a...
I see a lot of Fedora Lounge members seach and buy hats on ebay regularly.
I am wondering how many Lounge members sell hats on ebay.....either occasionally or on a regular bases.
