How Many Fedoras did you see today?

Only the one in the mirror. They're few and far between here in Harrisburg, Pa.

The Nomonhan Incident / Battle of Khalkhin Gol (1939)

I never knew about this and can't imagine how most historical outlines missed such a massive piece of the WWII puzzle. Great post!

What was the last TV show you watched?

Watched Grimm last night before going to bed, but watching Nero Wolfe at the moment...

    The Holmes Fedora

I'll second that. His version is as close as you're going to get without calling up RDJ. :D

    Falcon Park Hattery

I think it turned out better this way, I always liked the Whippet style but not the ribbon/felt matching. Parker did a great job on this one, and I'm a tad jealous. :eusa_clap

    Deciding on an Akubra...help please.

Gotcha, thanks for filling in one of the gaps in my info. I always seem to get half the picture, and a lot of fandom speculation, on COW. :D

    Deciding on an Akubra...help please.

Other differences between the Federation and the Adventurer are the crown. The height of the Federation IV was listed 5 3/4" when I bought my first one, though I think the hatsdirect site now states 5 5/8", and the Adventurer is 5 1/2". My understanding is that the Federation is entirely a...

That last shot is very well done, you should do a series.

    Deciding on an Akubra...help please.

I'm a Fed guy, I have both brown and moonstone. The moonstone I've modified to have an even 2 3/8" brim all the way 'round, with a Bogey style crease and it works well for me, but everyone is different.

WTB OR TRADE - Looking for KNOX or DOBBS 15 or 20 Wide Brim SIZE 7

I'm with ya there, I'm a size 7 as well and can never seem to find such a gem in my size. I'm not after as wide of a brim; I prefer 2 3/8" or 2 1/2" max, but the Knox Twenty and Forty hats are beautiful.

Articles says men lose fashion sense at age 37....

I'm not quite 37 yet (only a couple years away though) and I think my fashion sense is getting slightly better rather than worse. I'm wearing more suits, less jeans and sneakers...

    Could you survive?

It would be quite a change for me, since I'm a computer programmer and quite a geek for electronics. It could mean that I would be able to find work advancing technology, but I've had so many different side jobs in my life that I could do just about anything without any trouble picking up the...

Johnny Depp in talks to Play The Thin Man

Yes, I agree completely. Until now I wasn't sure of any woman who could do it, but after thinking over this suggestion, I can't imagine anyone else better suited.

Yeah, and the entire premise of The Lost World was completely different, too.

    Sears Hats 1938 Fall

Same here, I found that very surprising. It would also be nice to know when the terminology changed for fedora to mean the snap brim styles next to it.

    Falcon Park Hattery

Awesome, does it feel thinner/lighter than say an Akubra Federation? I know the standard rabbit is thicker than vintage hats so I was leaning towards the vintage weight. I have a Moonstone Fed IV and was hoping for something thinner/lighter, but the way it creases in your pics, I'm now leaning...

Movies That Kill Off the Main Character

Exactly, I can't remember any other scene that had the same impact.

Movies That Kill Off the Main Character

In the book, John Hammond was killed off at the end, not that he was "THE" main character, but that should have been left in the movie.
