I’m kinda in the same boat as I also prefer Y shaped but some V’s with cinch straps also work, especially if they’re at the waist vs hem, not all though. What really doesn’t work for me, and I get that excess bunching at the waist, is a straight torso with cinch straps. But I mostly wear my...- floater

Personally it’s mostly the collar on both, putting that aside I like the leather on the rc but I think the schott has a slightly better fit on you, but overall I think you could find one that both fits and looks better than either of those.- floater

You’re right, I only have a rc with red satin lining in the body and sleeves, and my other jackets are either cupro or unlined so I have no experience with thicker linings on leather, including cotton drill, flannel, wool blend and wool. Most fw/rc I‘ve seen have a dark colored thicker lining...- floater

It’s just a very poor attempt at a true p2p measurement, the armpit edges are folded back and not visible under the tape. I’ve seen some shops do this as well when asking for measurement pics.- floater

That thunder road jacket in vintage brown with the red? lining is the all heavily grained sample they use for marketing (stock & fit pics) on several stores, it’s the only one I’ve seen that doesn’t have black lining like all the rest.- floater
