Modern rather than vintage, but the Christy's Linen 8-panel caps are my most worn summer caps (I've got three of them now in varying colours). They're cool enough for pretty much the warmest UK weather, and cope surprisingly well with a summer shower.

They have very small production and stopped selling direct a few years back, so no longer have a web site. Most of their sales are to Japanese stores.

I'm in the UK, and for pretty much any leather wear I use Lord Sheraton's Leather Balsam (white cream in small jar) - works well on footwear, bags etc. can't see why it won't work on hat bands.
