    The Great Raid

It looks too saccharine. I won't be seeing it in the theater, but it's possible I may see it on video. Joseph Fiennes is usually good.

    "Violent Extremism"

    I hope you are joking.

    An introduction.

You are younger than I, by one year. My regards. Bienvenue!

New Coat to go with my New Hat!

Nice coat. The last picture is great.

    Older Than Dirt Quiz

    Same here.

    Anyone seen this?

I ordered this style because I needed a non-vintage suit of clothes, but I have been eying these (1, 2) for some time.

    Golden era food.

I weary of the common aluminum can. Fine glass bottles are much more practical, as the neck tapers to a small opening from which drinking is easy. They are usually narrower, as well, allowing for comfortable holding in the hand. And, of course, if situations become rowdy, one can always use a...

    Anyone seen this?

It certainly is true. I recently ordered a three-piece suit, which should arrive in a week or two. I recommend creating an account and entering your measurements before attempting to begin your order.

    Usher

I was thinking the same. Yet it is easy to become a cynic when so many people seem so uncouth and obtuse, even punkish. I suppose the best one can do is try to be a gentleman.

    High Style.

"Nerd" I be, as well, but it is true that if he were actually wearing pants at that level, they wouldn't be sagging so. And I must say, aside from powdered wigs and frills, some styles in the eighteenth century were not half bad.

What do you do for Living?

An impressive myriad of callings! And, of course, my congratulations to those completing their degrees! As for me, I am still a student (the greatest "job" of all).

    My ugly mug

I don't recommend using a four-in-hand (unless you want a very small, tight knot). It's asymmetrical, as you probably know.

    Tux--both buttons or just one

Indeed, I forgot about displaying the cummerbund. This is important.

    Serious vintage!

The ones in your avatar look good to me. By the way, that's a great site, Oscar. I love the eighteenth century glasses.

    Hats in Venice and Vienna

Venice is such a great place to blow your savings... Happy hat hunting!

    What is new, movie wise.

This probably isn't much like L.A. Confidential, but The Great Raid is being released.

Looking for a Felt Miracle Worker

Sir, your hat has clearly been savaged in the most obscene manner by that cur. My most sincere condolences.

    Canvas Sports Shoes

Well, as long as they don't slip and aren't crowding your feet too much, it's a good fit. With lightweight shoes like you have, they shouldn't feel too much different than dress shoes, except they should be more comfortable. Come to think of it, my PF Flyers are a tad tight around my right...

    Tux--both buttons or just one

I am no expert, and you may want to discount my opinion, anyway (I have always thought that that "rule" is absurd), but I would go by the fit of the jacket. Many garments are not meant to be buttoned all the way down (they look "off"). If the jacket is too tight when you fasten the bottom...

    Gas is gettin' crazy high.

I completely agree. In my opinion, the U.S. and its people could definitely benefit from being forced to walk more, especially with rising obesity. Europe is looking increasingly attractive to me as the years pass...
