    Akubra Overload

I spend a lot of posts on the beret thread, but I’m nearly as much of a fan of my Akubra hats. I have around a dozen or so. Here’s one I recently picked up that I’m proud of. I know purists might not like the modifications, but I’m pretty fond of the brim width, crown height, and certainly...

    Berets, Anyone?

Fantastic! Thanks for the information, Daan! Exactly what I was looking for. First, the extra work post-fulling really makes a difference. That line with the label and the soft hand really hits the mark. I’ll have to take a look through my collection and check against those labels. I...

    Berets, Anyone?

Hello all! Stopping in to report on an MDB Universel Luxe that I just received from Daan at South Pacific Berets. This is one fine beret. I’m not able to post a photo at the moment, but I will In the near future. (Maybe if I get to my phone tonight I’ll snap a couple of photos…) The wool...

    Berets, Anyone?

A beautiful beret, for sure. Someone will be lucky to have it if you decide to sell it! I inventoried my beret collection today (and, you know that when you need to go to Excel to take an inventory... it's a collection!) and have a few from Denis and others from Sarah. I'm overloaded with...

    Berets, Anyone?

I know that I have not participated in the discussion as much as I should, but I really appreciate all of the posts and photos! I just caught up on the last 9 pages (!) while making the rounds and seeing what new berets were out there in the wild for purchase! The new MdB Luxe versions look...

Depending on the things you do… it might be nice to have the wide brim option though, too! Definitely a personal call… ADK

    Akubra Overload

I have a Territory which is basically a Riverina with a different crown… along with the Coober Pedy. I find the Coober as a good run around hat, fine for working or running errands, etc., where you can’t beat the Territory if your spending the day out in the sun or rain. On brim size… I...

    Akubra Overload

Awesome. Thank you for the insight and tips, Johnny! Ok, I’m in… I’m going to take on the challenge and I’ll post up the results! I’m fine with some ghosting lines, etc., on my hats. While I’m pretty fond of my Akubras, they are all hats to be worn, used, and worked in. ADK

    Akubra Overload

This Coober Pedy has really grown on me in the last few weeks. Had it out and about today surveying the damage from (and during!) the nor’easter here in upstate NY… for work, not just sightseeing on terrible roads! Curious to know if anyone has rebashed a cattleman to match the bash on this...

    Akubra Overload

The felt weather stripping is exactly what I used in my size 60 Akubra. Ordered a new one last night... and went with a 60. I agree that I would rather take out a strip in the long run than have to keep hats on a stretcher!

    Akubra Overload

Thanks! It‘s so tough to tell. I’ve worn my cattleman quite a bit, the territory less, and the bushman even less. The Coober Pedy is only two days new. If I were to buy a Stetson used, I’d buy a 7-1/2. If I were to buy a Resistol used, I’d buy a 7-5/8…. If I measure my head, I’m a 58-1/2...

    Akubra Overload

Hi All! Longtime lurker and first time poster…. I primarily wear Akubra hats from David Morgan along with a strong contingent of berets from South Pacific Berets. (Beret’s are a whole other story, I know!) Anyhow, curious on how much shrinking I should expect on my Akubra…? I just received a...
