    Interesting New Indy Book

The one thing I've learned is that there are quite a few "sore spots" here at the lounge, and you are bound to get at least one every time.;)

    Mary Ann/What Next?

Those 50,000 people all had families too, so speeding is still no big deal? "The Road and Traffic Authority (RTA) state that the inappropriate use of speed (which is known there as "speeding") is a factor in about 40 per cent of road deaths." To put that into perspective, according to the...

    Mary Ann/What Next?

Speeding is illegal, almost 50,000 people die in automobile accidents a year. When is the last time you drove over the speed limit (i.e. broke the law). How many people died from smoking pot last year?[huh]

Someone got a beauty of a wide-brim Cavanagh!

Lately it seems like I'm just going to have to be happy with the 20 or so hats I have. Tweaking my collection is now out of my price range.:( I was lucky to get my Borsalino and Cavanagh and Whippet when I did.

    Spring Forward!

They really screwed up Hallowe'en by moving the end of DST. I heard some Senator saying how the kids will be safer because it wont be dark when they trick-or-treat. But the thing is everyone waits until it's dark to start! So now my daughter has less time for candy gathering if she's going to...

Hats are coming back big now!

The Batman Animated Series had amazing art deco style

Here's something I drew pretty recently for no reason except to further ingrain my obsession.;)

So what is the Fedora Lounge all about?

Of course not, just an example of the extreme. :) I miss Marc and Rob and the others too, but time marches on and things change. :o It's the way of the world. We can make new rules all day long but if it's going to evolve we'll have a hard time changing it. I say just go with the flow.

    Just won this 1940s beauty

That's a great looking jacket aswatland! It's very similar to one I have that has a '36-'39 Union Label, especially the sleeve cuffs. Mine's goat instead of horse though. And it took a whole tub of Pecards before it looked that good. I only have these photos from when I bought it, I haven't...

    What has happened to society?

I'm always telling my wife that I wish they would bring back the Blue Laws again. I miss my "Lazy" Sundays. Now it's just another busy day filled with errands like the rest.:(

    Just won this 1940s beauty

Nobody on the lounge has owned more leather jackets than Mud, so his info is golden!;) Thanks Mud!

    Just won this 1940s beauty

I've seen labels from the 70's that looked just like that too, just "retro" styling. That's why I was asking if there were any other labels, at all, to help date it. With the info I have now and the two photos the only thing I could say with any certainty is that it was probably made between...

    Just won this 1940s beauty

Have you found a Union Label? It should have one it it's that old. I suspect it might actually be more of a 60's or 70's jacket. Is there a tag that says what the lining is made of?

    Lunar Eclipse Feb. 20th

Missed it, it's raining. My daughter cried because she had been looking forward to it for a couple of weeks. We'll just have to wait a couple more years. :(

    Had a brush with Hollywood?

I was an animator on "A Scanner Darkly", made in Austin, TX. I met Charles Schultz at an art opening of fine art based on the Peanuts. The premier of Apollo 13 was here in Houston and I do contract work for Space Center Houston designing exhibits and met Gary Sinise and Bill Paxton. I...
