    Schott "Classic Truck Jacket"

Coff coff...the introduction of the japanese Professional line almost killed Jackson USA because the japanese guitars were as good as the american at half price. And my main guitar is a 1990 Soloist professional.

    Schott "Classic Truck Jacket"

My understanding is that these jackets were made under the input of the japanese distributor, who evidently noticed that in his market there was interest for historically accurate Schotts, something that shouldn't surprise because we already know that brands like Real McCoy's and the Few make...

    Schott "Classic Truck Jacket"

Yeah, I'm familiar with the Orvilles and I'm old enough to remember that the first MIJ Squiers (series JV and E) were better than the american Strats, BUT in this case we are talking about MIUSA jackets made and sold on the japanese market, not MIJ jackets, at least I've never seen a MIJ Schott...

    Schott "Classic Truck Jacket"

For what I understood most japanese Schotts are made in NJ but some are also MIJ (by Buzz perhaps?) under license. Schott NYC has a deal with the japanese distributor who asked for some styles that are popular there, mainly vintage Schotts like the 641XX and the 613XX. If they have an exclusive...

    Schott "Classic Truck Jacket"

Japanese Schotts are the best, I've just received a 641xx and it's a stunning jacket, much better than the standard 641, the quality is similar to my Aeros, unfortunately they are very difficult to procure.

    Any Do's & Don'ts in military clothing?

Mmm, no. The Carabinieri still use the old 1934 jacket that inspired the SS-uniform (although the italian jacket has better decorations), the Air Force's tradition uniform, very similar to the RAF's was changed in the late 80s, it lost the belt, side pockets and became much darker, almost...

A-2 Jacket: A Classic and Tasteful Design?

Very true, the lack of inside pocket limits a little the A-2 in the everyday use, that's the reason why I asked a custom pocket like the G-1, not historically correct, but convenient.

A-2 Jacket: A Classic and Tasteful Design?

Hello Michael, IMO the A-2 is a classic design because it inspired many other jackets until today, for instance I noticed this year a new trend for fashion jackets clearly inspired by trim fitted A-2s, mostly worn by women who probably don't know anything about the original military jacket. As...

    Any Do's & Don'ts in military clothing?

German WWII gear is a special case: it was designed to look stylish, elegant and to impress people. It is also true than until the mid '60s military people, especially officers, were very fashion concerned, you can still find some of them today, for instance, in Modena in front of the Officers'...

    Leather Motorcycle jacket recommendations

I used to own a very nice Aero A-2 but I never tested it on a bike, at the moment I've another A-2 on order at Kelso but I'm not totally convinced that the snaps would make the jacket good for riding, probably the throat latch of the G-1/M422 would work better and I'm curious to test it because...
