Stetson Temple and Sultey?
Does anyone have crown measurements on the Stetson Temple and/or Sutley? Also, if anyone has good photos of either, that'd be great. I'm trying to stir interest in a potential new hat wearer, and I suspect that these might be the sort that would appeal to the target, um... I mean subject. :D- Not-Bogart13

Brim width of Akubra Federation
The brim measurements you gat from anyone will be approximate, but always close. Definately under 3" anyway. The brim can vary slightly from one hat to the next. I've owned a total 4 Federations in my time, and been around mnay others. While the average on mine was 2 7/8 x 2 5/8. I also...- Not-Bogart13

Please educate a noob...
The deluxe has a slightly higher quality felt, but I've heard that it's a little fuzzier compared to the smooth regular Federation. To me, the deluxe isn't worth the extra $$. But that's just me. A Whippet, at least a vintage version, generally has a 5 3/4" crown before being shaped, with a 2 5/8" brim. The brim is bound and the ribbon is about 1 1/2" wide. Since you have no locker, a pea coat is more managable. I have one in size 42 I'm trying to sell off cheap, if you're interested. Basically, wool felt is the low end, rabbit fur felt is mid-range in price and quality, and beaver fur felt is the high end. Those are the main ones for fedoras...- Not-Bogart13

Slim, It looks like a good hat to start with, and I'm pretty sure it comes shaped as you see it in the photo. OldSkoolFrat is right, though. Earbags - Now I can wear my hat/cap through the winter!
I have a pair of these. With a fedora, they are better than wearing regular earmuff around the back of the head, but they can be annoying if you have a larger head size (say 7 3/8 and up).
