Size Question
I don't mean to start an argument, but if that were consistantly true, I'd have about 10 vintage hats of size 7 3/8 or 7 1/2. I've tried several on, and had others measured. I need advice on picking out an Indy style fedora
The only problem with AB is that Steve has temporarily stopped taking new orders so he can catch up a bit. If your willing to wait, though, AB is your best option. I believe one of those Akubras is an open crown, too. Also, look at the ribbon widths. I think the Windham ribbon is noticable wider, which changes the look of the hat.- Not-Bogart13

I have the Windham in black. Alas, not pictures yet. It's quite a unique hat. The brim isn't just bound. After the binding ribbon, the edge is then top-welted! Help, What kind of hat?
Looks like a common modern stingy brim to me; Stetson "Saxon" or "Frederick", maybe a Capas "Blues Bros" or something. These types of hats will come up if you search for "fedora" on most websites. Crown measurements, especially with IJ hats, are relevent by either method. The 5.5" should be the open crowned, unbashed height. So if you like the style and want the great quality of an AB, but you know you need diffferent measurements, the hat is made-to-order.
