    Pentagonal bashes

OK, embarrasing question... how many points is that? One more reason I'm not a teacher anymore! lol

New Stetson hat - Need advice

I sometime wear the pin in my black Stetson, and I have no trouble taking it on and off. The touch of gold on the all-black hat bresses it up nicely. As for feathers, generally I won't leave a feather in, but once in a great while, I like it. It really depends on the hat and the wearer's...

    Dissapointment

daizawaguy, your experience is not unusual in that people have to find what suits them. What is unusual is that you started out with a top modern manufacturer and they aren't good enough for you. Most people start further down and are dazzled by Akubras when they finally get one. This is...

    Wow...Dorfman Pacific Fur Felt Indy

I didn't realize that liner logo dated back to 2003. Regardless, you got a fair hat... better than most are willing to say. A friend has that exact hat, I think. He reshaped it, and has used it as an "everything" hat. It's now stained with sweat and bleached by the sun, but still in one...

Tired of the Hat Stupidity. . .Time to get a new hat.

Just as an aside, sort of... I recently was told (in a complimentary way) that I "look like Harrison Ford in that hat". I was wearing one of my VS hats, and it wasn't even brown. But he refrained from saying Indiana Jones, which tells me he thought it, but realized it might be an immature way...

    Stetson "Nostalgia"? (now with pics)

Alright, I'm confused now! The production version with the 2 1/2 inch brim I'm aware of, but now it sounds like there may or may not be a version available with a 2 5/8 inch brim. I feel like I've missed a post somewhere along the way...

Tired of the Hat Stupidity. . .Time to get a new hat.

The comment (be they Indy or otherwise) will come no matter what sort of brimmed hat you wear. Consider them a declaration of stupidity or jealousy, and move on. Wear what you like, and know that the opionions of the stupid don't matter. I love wearing my fedoras with my taupe trench, and...

    Introduction and request....

Try Duanne here; http://www.thefedorastore.com/Design-A-Hat-s/169.htm His "Design-a-Hat" idea might be just what you're looking for. If you e-mail him what you're looking for in felt and design, he can tell you how to order it, and which felt type/hat base to pick. And you'll probably be...

mint stetson royal stratoliner for sale $110 plus shipping

The most common current head sizes are 7 3/8, 7 1/2, and 7 5/8. Anything over 7 3/8 will always sell higher and faster. I have wasted many hours and days trying to find vintage hats for my 7 1/2 mellon, and I've only nailed one.

    Best Crushable Hats

Borso's do get mix reviews, but I think their crusher gets bad word of mouth very consistantly. As for Akubra - There's a reason they keep coming up, you know. lol I didn't realize the Casual was a crusher, so I guess they have a good spot in all the rabbit fur felt markets.

    Adventurebilt

When contacting Steve, if you've tried 4 or five e-mails, try PMing on COW or posting on a thread that he's active on. Sometimes his e-mail filter kicks normal e-mail adresses. I know that Steve has had orders cancelled for various reasons. Flat out impatience doesn't please him, because...

    Indy IV Licensed Hats

I don't think they're worried about it. They have the rights to the authentic movie block shapes, and they will be selling in a different portion of the market, really. AB knows that they have the best, and that their factory versions will be the best factory offering possible. The right...

    Best Crushable Hats

Country Gentleman is OK in terms of looks, and they hold together fairly well. However they are 100% wool, and the cold wind cuts right through them. A decent ballcap is warmer in the wind than a Country Gentleman!

    The Hunter

My advice is to ask for that design from one of the hat makers that we trust most. Art Fawcett has done a few great outbacks, Peter Bros. could probably do it justice, and maybe even Optimo. All will probably cost less and their reputations are spoken about all over the Lounge. Also, I think...

Art Fawcett VS Hall of Fame

My hat blushes. Thank you for what is probably the greatest compliment I could imagine. I hope Art sees that one. Now, if only he could make me my very own Ms. Hayworth!

How do you store your hats?

If you have the means and space to display a collection proudly, I don't see why you shouldn't. Be sure to use or make a stand that will hold each hat without causing any harm to the hat shape. Oh, and use some cedar in your design to protect the hats. I can only dream of such a display...

    Stetson Fargo

You know, I saw pics of the Fargo on several websites, and it didn't impress me. But it really suits you well, rrog. It goes to show you how important it is to match the hat and the wearer. Well chosen. :eusa_clap

Desperately seeking 7 1/2 brown fedora

I was just considering selling off my chocolate brown Dobbs. It has a 2 inch brim with stictched overwhelt. Current bash is 4 1/4" in front, 4 1/2" at highest point. Reshapes easily and responds very well to water. I've been stalling selling it because I love the ribbon. I'll sell it...

    "Irvin" from ALC

Forgive me for my ignorance. But what is an "Irvin" and where or what is ALC? I ask because I suspect I'm not the only one without a clue.
