Where to find white fedoras?
True white is not an easy find, and I recall hearing it's a tough color to make in felt. However, most "white" hats turn out to be very very light tans or grays.- Not-Bogart13

Differences in Indy Hats?
I'm a COW member, and I've seen most major offerings in person. The Federation IV (which I just saw recently) is a great off-the shelf option. Anything wrong with Akubra Snowy River? ...
When it comes to hats, I find that I've sold off a few "barely used" even though I wear a hat every day. Sometimes I'm struck with hat love that turns out to be just empty infatuation. Newbie looking for some advice
I would recommend explaining to Art what you've explained in this thread. He can be very helpful. For the crown height issue, if I may suggest a 5 1/2 open crown to start. It's a healthy sized crown to test the tall-crown waters. Some people find 5 3/4 a bit much to digest out of the blue...- Not-Bogart13

I think I know why the first auction may not have done well. I have noticed a considerable drop in forum posting (to my untrained eye) on weekends. Since the best time to bid is on the last day of the auction, Sunday was not a great time to end the auction, especially on a holiday weekend...- Not-Bogart13

If this hat has the wider whippet brim binding, I could go for either brim width. Federation IV coloring
I'm a member at COW (the red-headed Indy fan step brother of the Lounge). Based on what I've read there, the new color on the standard Fed IV almost kills the need for the Fed IV Deluxe, unless you're in love with the deluxe felt.
