Mine was shipped directly by Mississippi. I don't think it would profit anyone but the post office for it to be shipped to NZ and then back to the States. Even if that did happen, Magnoli ships so fast, you'd never notice! ;)
I find a 2 1/2" or 2 5/8" brimmed fedora style to be the most versatile, but it's also a matter of taste, general wardrobe choice, and what looks good on you. Pork Pies don't work with everything and everyone, and neither do stingies or wide brims. My "Holy Trinity" of crown bashes are the...
I don't think it's about getting the attention, Johnny. People are drooling all over themselves waiting for these lids to go up. But, money is tight for just about everyone, and many probably share my strategy (and jdbenson's). I watch every hat in my size, but I'll probably only be able to...
Officially, for Indy IV, Dumbjaw is correct. For Raiders, it's just a tiny bit bigger (2 7/8 x 2 5/8).
If you're asking about specific brands that you can buy, the AB dimensions can be whatever you want. Steve or Marc can advise on the best choice for whichever movie hat you want to...
I also tried a Windham, in black. I like it, and it gets a lot of compliments. The brim edge is very unusual, and has a black binding on the black felt. The tapered crown bothered me at first, but I find it makes the black look less formal. It is completely different from the Nostalgia...
That is a super looking hat, especially with the new bash. I'm not much of a "thin ribbon guy" but it suits that particular hat perfectly. I wouldn't change it.
I think it's probably based on what sells. Of course, since the wide binding is nearly impossible to find in a production hat these days, the numbers might be off. lol All I know is, "You can't find a hat like that around here," sounds like an endorsement to me.
Well, I would personally prefer a wide binding, and I don't know that I would buy the thin binding. I've owned several like that, and none remain in my collection today.
Based on comments I get on the street, the public at large does notice the difference, even if they can't sort out what...
I do feel more fully dressed with a hat. If I forget it in a public setting, I have that felling you get when dreaming about being in a crowded room without your pants.
I'd have to agree with the wife on this one. The only time I go with khaki shirt and pants is when I'm wearing Indy Gear. And that's not very often. I try to make one or the other actually brown or olive. Even blue.
The only button flies I've found besides jeans have been Indiana Jones pants, and custom jobs, like Magnoli.
Edit/Addition; If messed-up zippers are a frequent problem for you, might I recommend buying better pants or considering a slightly tamer lifestyle.
I believe you can safely use scotchguard, but I would try spraying the underside of the brim first and let it dry to see if there's a problem. There is also a similar spray available specifically for felt hats. It might be the same stuff. [huh]
I think I understand the negative reaction to Alan's Navy with brown pic. But I think it's the lighting or the flash, because it does look off. But I find blue and brown work well together. I am amazed at how good the grey and brown pic looks.
It really warps my mind, but the trend of...
