I know somebody who MIGHT know. I'll ask and get back.
Meanwhile, if you put pictures on a hosting site like flickr or photobucket, you can post a link here.
Hoss, you have no need to fear this hat. I would have bid, but it's too close to the one I just got. And I think many are waiting for specific lids to come up.
Personally, I think it's the nicest Camptown I've seen to date, matched to a wearer perfectly. I think low crowns with wide brims are not suited to most people, but an exception exists here.
About crown shape; A C-crown has one point at the front pinch, and is otherwise rounded. Diamond...
Holy Guacamole! I expected to see this baby command a good price, but wow. Congrats, or sympathies... whichever works best for ya! Beautiful lid. One of Johnny's nicest, so I guess it makes sense. :D
I don't think there's a policy against it. I just didn't think that rather long thread was necessary to my intent. But I've seen links to other forums before.
I say give yourself time to get used to the brim. It is on the wide side, but your face and the bash work well with it. Very swoopy and dashing. I wouldn't trim it if it were up to me.
I can't speak from experience on US Wings service (I got mine second hand), but I feel one word in there defense is needed. You should have noticed the size issue with the first jacket, requiring only one exchange. :eusa_doh:
That does not excuse them refusing to do an exchange, especially...
I love gray fedoras. Have a ton of them. I find the key to a versatile gray hat is to pick something in the mid-range, rather than really light or really dark. A gray with a slight brown undertone is also better than a one with a blue undertone because it will mix better with non-blue and...
May as well slide this in; I got an e-mail from Magnoli. He's curious to see if a custom Deckard shirt would sell. Drop him a message if it's something you'd think of buying.
I have exactly one hat shop within 150 miles (as far as I can find), and the only boxes he has are the ones with hats in them. :(
Simple fact is, it is very far from easy to "drop by your local hat shop" for anything these days. They usually aren't there.
Noodles, I have to agree about the collar. It always reminded me of a knit wool sweater lining detail, similar to the sweater he wears at the end.
I know Magnoli had expressed interest in attempting a Blade Runner coat if someone wanted to commission it. I don't know that he's had any...
Well, if it's any consolation to the Long Oval Rioters, it's barely a long oval. I didn't even notice a difference in fit from my regular oval Trinity. So, maybe it lost it's "longness" over time, and it's a blessing in disguise.
As many of you have already seen, no doubt, I have that NOS Trinity from Johnnyphi. While inspecting it, I noticed that there is clear plastic behind the sweatband, going all the way around. It seems to well attached, but given how long it's been sitting in there, it might just be very stuck...
