You might be a Long Oval. Most modern hats are only made in standard oval (unfair, to say the least), and I've experienced some brands that are rounder than others. Sometimes a reblock or a good stretching into a long oval will help. Many with that head shape complain about marks on the head...
Well, in the movie, the bar was in Nepal. But the hats are usually associated with sherpas in many tv and movie portrayals, so maybe a search for "sherpa hat" would actually work. lol
Well, I'm waiting on my first AE order, but it's a 3-mother. Still, everyone I know of on this forum that has dealt with them has had good things to say. It is possible that, to save money on overhead (and thus sell hats at lower prices) that they don't physically stock any hats. Every order...
I find there are pros and cons to both (or all three, if we include the dreaded leatherette).
On cloth; I get hot very easily, and sweat when I got even a little warm. Cloth creates a less perfect "seal" against my skin and also absorbs moisture, making me feel more comfortable. As...
Prick us, do we not bleed? Stain us, do we not spot-clean?
(Sorry. Frustrated former English teacher.)
I need to attempt getting a blood stain out, and I could use some guidance. Any input would be helpful.
Also. I was looking at the advice given in Classic Style #5. The article...
I find it difficult to smile for a posed picture in most cases, especially if I'm taking my own picture (which is usually the case). So it's kind of forced. The results are dreadful, so I don't get many smiles in my avatar pics.
I noticed something about these, Rundquist. Almost all have the brims are turned up completely in every pic, and that's usually how you wear them. Are these hats' brims capable of being snapped down, or are they made to stay up? (if that sounds like an odd question, let me say that I know of...
Thanks for the advice, Carter. I considered most of those hats, and indeed I like open crown better. However, through trial and error I have learned that my brim width possibilities end a little under 3 inches, even with a curl. It defies most of what I know about matching hats to face and...
Carter, you amaze me. It seems like you can rock any style lid out there without a blink. :eusa_clap
I finally made a "western" plunge. I'm waiting on a "special order" gray Akubra Longreach. I'm planning to wear it in snow and ice storms and gradually curl up the brim through handling.
I'm an Integrator, but my ordinary routine makes it look like I'm a Careful. My stuff just doesn't tend to get messed up and rumpled (or "distressed" as the Indy crowd might say), because my natural way of living doesn't cause it happen.
Basically, everything I own ends up well taken care...
I think the crown is too high. I know they dug up some older blocks recently. I suspect those hats came from those warehouse finds.
In some pics I've seen, Kidman's looks like an old Federation with a different bow. Perhaps an ancestor?
The collar on the one Lance posted is pretty much what I'm after.
As for finding that in a store, trendy or not... no-go. I have been into stores I never thought I even walk past willingly trying to find it. Only the short ones are around. I've even stopped people in the street and ask. I...
