I see this often, even with hats that are correctly sized or a little large. It depends how it's held in place, and how much the ribbon or band gets touched by you or something else. When I see it, I gently push it down. If that fails, I have clean needle nose pliers that work smashingly...
lol lol lol lol lol
A lot of people react to the Fed that way. It takes getting used to because the crown has so little taper. It's not for everyone, but you can shape the crown much lower than what they show on the website. Check out the non-Indy Fed thread here, and look around for...
I'm not sure if this actually a WWII issue, but you could call them up and ask;

I'll look around some more, though.
Big Man, big improvement!
I think everyone will have their own personal tastes on what to do with that brim. I would not have gone with the sharp bend, but I think it's perfect with your face shape. Like John said, though, try playing with the top a little. Try both sides, or back a bit...
A taper looks ok on you, I think, but that one looks too high. Could be the angle of the shot, though. It looks like you have wide enough shoulders to off-set the narrower face a bit, so that will help.
I would say, aim for a brim width from that one (I'm guessing 2 3/4 inches maybe) down...
Well, my go-to man is Art Fawcett, who is a member here. Do a search, you'll find him. He has worked from photos before, and fully custom. Not to mention a true gent. You'll have to wait a few months, but I don't think he's had an unhappy customer yet.
To be fair, though, there are plenty...
Casual styles include the pork pie, outback, and stingy brim, for sure. But many of the more basic so-called dress hats can be used in casual mode.
But, to be certain, I'd say keep the brim at 2 1/2" or shorter and you'll be fine. Outback styles can sometimes look too "cowboy" with jeans...
I am aware of all of these. The Millers I like are the pricier ones with the dents, but they are the highest I will go. (One of which is actually a Stetson, by the way).
I really like the Akubra, but the brim is too small! :( Otherwise, my quest would be over. I think that may be the...
Art's wait times used be incredibly short. However, he has wisely chosen to put his health first, and slowed down. He still has one of the shortest waiting periods out there for a custom hat, though. For now. lol
A snap brim is one that is flanged with an even upward curl all around, but with enough give to easily flip it down and back up by hand. Front, back, and/or sides. If it is not a snap brim, then the "wearing shape" is flanged into the brim to start with and is generally stiff to the point that...
Rund, the circumference on these hats is a 7 3/8. Better change your listing title. Oh, and they are all too small for me! :( I know, I could have them resized, but that will push me over-budget. I hope they all sell quickly. It is one fine collection!
Well, the good news is that I have time to hunt (and have been doing so), but it's on my mind now, so I might as well plow full steam ahead.
I would not mind vintage at all, but 7 1/2 is not that common (or cheap) a size for that. Therefore, I'm open to anything, including wool felt. Given...
Wool felt, huh? I'd try fixing it yourself, either dry or using Wil Tam's advice.
Failing that, you could probably buy a new replacement for about the same (maybe less) than having a professional fix it. And I'm not even sure if a hatter would service wool felt.
In my experience, Stetsons don't usually get their snap back without professional care. Not modern ones, anyway.
I solved this by wetting the brim intensionally and hand shaping it to how I wanted to wear it.
