Fact or fiction Hat Size
Oddly enough, when I wore a 7 3/8 I couldn't find vinatage hats in that size to save my life... unless they were totally beat. vintage vs. custom
I hold the belief that the right custom hat is just as good as the right vintage hat. If I found myself torn between two such hats, in my size, price would be the deciding factor. Your sizing method is sound, and represents the so-called "ideal" seating for a hat. But as with most utopias, it's mostly just a thin illusion rather than a reality.
