    Return to "normal" tv.

Hi I don't have a TV now, paying Cox $59 a month for basic internet is enough for them (since I don't own stock). I'm also in Oklahoma, which is slightly red, so I doubt anyone would waste their money anyway. The ONLY thing I've missed seeing on basic TV is football, and I just haven't...

Bills Khakis . . . what do you think ?

Hi I own two pair of the At The Front khaki's and where them regularly. They are full cut. I'm ordering more. Later

Role of Brown Suits in the Golden Age

Hi Oddly enough, my son works at a large regional bank headquarters in Kansas. There appear to be SOME rules, but not any I think match yours. Junior wears khaki pants and a polo shirt with the bank name on it. The shirts are in either KU, K-State, or Wichita State colors. No he's NOT a...

The general decline in standards today

My Dad told the village secretary that you should have the option of selling your house to the city for it's appraised value. The mayor didn't like the idea much. As much as I dislike government intervention, it might be worth while for the government to tear down houses and businesses...

Good riddance to vintage things that have disappeared in your lifetime

The 8-tracks you can have, but the influenza outbreak of 1918 may have saved my Grandpa Mike. He was called up in early 1918 but couldn't go because he was too sick. He was called up again in November 1918 but (obviously) didn't go anywhere. I'm surprised no one has mentioned pay toilets...

    Why!!!! Hipsters!!! Why!!!!!

Hey, the grass is always greener and all that crap. Instead of the shirt with my name on it, I get a stupid clip on deal and have to go buy a shirt. Whoppeee. I don't LOVE Pabst, but I don't hate it or look down on it. I DO however look down on Olympia for having no taste whatsoever, not...

    Why!!!! Hipsters!!! Why!!!!!

Um, Where DID the Hipster's thread go?? Boy, I don't read ONE day for lunch and see where things go. In summary, "The first generation that's BORN rich seem to be a flaming pain in the rear." Later Y'all

What TV shows were you GLAD were cancelled?

Gasp!!!! HOW could anyone NOT LIKE the little bald guy getting patted on his little head?? And then there's the weekly sequence at the end of the show with everyone chasing to the tune of "Yackety Sax". I'm appalled, appalled I tell you. :eeek: Of course I don't YET own the whole series on...

What TV shows were you GLAD were cancelled?

Hi Somebody should work out a count, but I'm pretty sure that MASH went on far longer (in air time) that the Korean War did. Jeez. Didn't Hop lips get married twice? In a year and a half war. I've watched one episode of Seinfeld three or four times. I miss Emergency, and a few others.

Role of Brown Suits in the Golden Age

Hi Malloy's Dress for Success said no brown suits or shoes UNLESS you were a really big guy. Brown made you less scary somehow. FROM MEMORY so cut me SOME slack.

    Black Sheep Hat Works

Hi Nice hat, I like the color and the Ostrich sweat band. Most Ostrich I've felt was SOFT, that might be a good idea for others to copy. Was it more expensive? Later

    Why!!!! Hipsters!!! Why!!!!!

Hi Jimmy Heileman's is the name of the company that produced Old Style. Old Style (not a personal favorite) is their better beer. Joseph Heileman's Premium beer is the nasty stuff. PBR was $7 or 8 a case in 1979, Old Style was $8 or 9, Bud was $9 a case and Joseph Heileman's Premium beer...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

HI TonyB and I didn't get pictures, but then we're not photogenic. I met Tony at 13 Coins in Tukwilla (I think) Washington for dinner. Good place, we both had a seafood omelet, hash browns, and split a bowl of clams in Pesto sauce. Clams were great, omelet was good, hash browns couldn't be...

BUCKAROO BONANZA! - The Hats that Major Mike Moore Makes

Hi The hat looks great. What is the open crown height? I have a similarly colored hat, so Obviously I like that combination. I especially like the shape of the hat, it complements you facial features etc petty well. I have to get a similar hat in size etc, but different color combinations...

What cigar (or pipe) did you smoke today?

Hi A shade Quorum Torpedo. Quorums are inexpensive short leaf cigars, but the torpedo shape, cut close to the end keeps them from unwrapping. Not bad for under $3.00 a cigar. Later

    Beer and Cheese pairing

    This generation of kids...

That's cool, degree in Criminal Justice and scared of the inmates. I stopped my kid from making a similar mistake. He was the bus boy at CiCi's pizza and made a comment about how gross it was to have to touch food that other people had in their mouth. I stopped, thought a bit, and asked him...

    Beaver Brand Hats, gone?

Hi IN MY OPINION, and based on the Fedora Store, Beaver Brand wasn't exactly a pre-made hat company like Stetson. They also weren't a custom hat store like Tony. They were a funky offshoot in between. They didn't have a conformatour to send you, but they would make pretty much any hat in any...
