Nice Whippet, Michael! I would say mid to late 1950's from what I see in your pictures. Earlier had a bit wider brim. I have one here that measures 2 3/4 from the ribbon to the edge. You have a fine example there. Love the color.

They do. I have sent the offer. Only problem is the second highest bidder probably didn't want to pay as much as his highest bid. Ebay only allows me to offer him a BIN for that amount. He may buy it. You never know.
If this was someone new to Ebay and just didn't get how it works I would not have mentioned this event. Unfortunately, he has a 100% rating and over 200 transactions.
An email giving a reason for cancelling isn't too much to ask for .
