Investigator1947 is a pretty good seller. I've found the measurements to be spot on with the several suits I've gotten from them. You can always send them a message to verify. Two inches of ease in the chest for a modern RL jacket sounds about right to me.
I have one suit with that button placement. It's a 30's bespoke number I bought from BK. Have always wondered why the buttons were so peculiarly placed.
I agree with Rabbit, pairing a vest/jacket with odd trousers can work well. In terms of the stripes, the only striped jackets I will wear with odd trousers are navy. I think this works because a striped navy jacket reads like a blazer. I'd especially recommend wearing a navy pinstripe with cream...
Papperskatt that suit is amazing. Is the vest double-breasted? I don't think I've ever seen a suit-belt like that, with the kind of buckle you'd find on a raincoat. I've seen it on some 60's era Norfolk jackets, but I assumed all the authentic ones from the teens/twenties had the double-button...
Ha - almost did exactly that at dinner last night. Caught my fork right before it made disastrous contact. Don't have good reflexes, but apparently they emerge when called for. 80 year silk is tender stuff. I'm afraid to even have it pressed, as the last time I did it came back with the collar...
Great looks everyone! HS, I love that zippered polo + sports jacket look. The breast pocket on that jacket is amazing. Couple recents looks, given that spring is here. The second is my favorite spring/summer suit, an unconstructed silk suit made in 1937. Only thing I don't like about it is the...
One of my favorite odd trousers is made of covert cloth. Very sturdy stuff, and drapes pretty well. Obviously it's a lighter weight than what you'd find in a covert coat.
Thanks for the props Cookie (and everyone else). The jacket in your photo is awesome. I really love the lapels. Could be twins with my suit for sure. Well, maybe an uncle or something.

Beautiful suit. But this guy's measurements continue to be utter insanity. How do you get a 41 inch chest out of a 17 pit-to-pit measurement, where the vest is an inch larger, and the pant...
I like the slit pocket + ticket pocket look. I know slit pockets are technically dressier, but it's SO functional to just be able to jam your hands into your jacket pockets without contending with a flap. Great for a casual jacket.
When I was in college at the University of Texas, a society I was in, which shall remain nameless, ordered all the...uh...new members to purchase Pecos boots, and wear them always. This was back when they still had the cork sole. I still love those boots, and wear them whenever real work needs...
