Here's another shot from the cover of Berhard Roetzel's book.
There is also a shot of the coat in black on the back cover that is worn quite well with a homburg.
Cheers!

Has anybody here had a covert coat? What are your thoughts on them? I hear they are a lighter version of the Chesterfield, made for riding in the country. It sounds like it would make a good year round coat.
Cheers!

Well, thank you Doc! That is most appreciated.
Tony, it may be, but I don't see a wind cord on this one.
Has anyone heard of Gruber's in Irvington, NJ?
Cheers!

Basically to sum up some ideas here, start with what will go with everything you wear on a regular basis, day in and day out. Then take your hair color and skin tone into consideration. For some folks certain colors wash them out and make them look like they're Death munching on a cracker. Also...
Alas, poor analogist, it is nowhere near New Jersey.:(
Sorry old bean, but you might have snagged it in transit and have been a very stylish cat. Actually, Jersey Jones is right in Irvington so he may have snagged it before you. ;) :p
But if it goes astray I'll know who to talk to.;)...
I just think that the illustrations are showing the suit coats as being properly tapered to fit and be more flattering. It looks much better than the boxy stuff that sells today.
Even modern made suits from the Harris Tweed Shop have a taper in them, just not as drastically shown in the...
Here's a better full length shot.
Looking forward to the upcoming winter months. Knowing my luck though we'll have an unusually warm winter.:eusa_doh:

Very interesting Feltfan. That is a very strong and valid possibility you have there. I will keep that in mind when I check to see what else is lurking under the leather. Thank you for that heads-up.:)
When I have it here I'll post a clearer shot of the tag if possable.
Cheers!

Now, place it on you head with a jaunty tilt, wear the proper suit, tie and rolled umbrella (with hidden sword of course) you could pull possibly pull off John Steed.:eusa_clap
Cheers!

Here is my latest capture from the Isle of e-bay. Netted without too much struggle.;)
I'm guessing that it may need a little cleaning judging by the brim binding and the yellowed bow inside the hat. Looks to be the previous wearer used hair product or had slick head...
This may very well be much older than 1957, it's unknown to me until I get it in my mitts and check under the sweat band. It looks to hardley ever been worn. It may have been bought at a second had store in 1957 for a wedding or a formal event, and to commemorate the event it was dated. Then put...
I know it doesn show the entire coat but I found that it went really well with my Stetson Sovereign. I will try to post some better shots of the coat later.
Cheers!
