    Richard Chamberlain's "Allan Quatermain" hat

Ethically, that is completely correct. And I have shot a zebra though the entire skin was made into the absolutely necessary rug so unfortunately there wasn't enough stripy hide left for the band. A giraffe is problematical. They are huge and must be shot in the morning to allow time to cut...

    Richard Chamberlain's "Allan Quatermain" hat

And while we're talking safari hats (I've had an inexpensive one for years) does anyone know of a source for animal skin bands? I have one in zebra but would love to add one in giraffe . . . Crocodile and leopard are far too expensive.

    So Caler's- Schaeffer's Garment Hotel?

Gunner Foxx? Out here on the Left Coast there seems to be a shortage of classic hat makers. Has anyone ever done business with Gunner Foxx? He seems to do a lot of business with the film industry but has now opened to the public. I think he's as close as anyone to me.

    Resurrection of the Stetson Musketeer!

Oh damn! Now you've got me thinking (always a dangerous activity!).

    the face of evil

Yeah, they do. Let me see . . . For painting the ceiling, hosting a water balloon party, fraternity parties where the beer is flowing so fast you're afraid it might get on your good hat, etc., cheap hats are a necessity.

FS: Stetson St. Regis homburg, size 7 1/8

Good for you. I'd have bought it in a heartbeat if it was a 7 3/8.

Do you wear a fedora with your leather jacket?

When I had a flight jacket I wore the fedora on cool, sunny days. However, the jacket was a cheapie and it died. Later I got a leather sportcoat and wore a suede cap with it. I never really liked that coat but some day I'll get another one I like better and, yes, I will wear a fedora with it...

    First Panama Hat.

Panama hats are wonderful. Once the temperatures get into the 70's, that's all I wear until Fall---along with straw caps, of course.

    Dogs and Hats

Allowing the terrorier any near any of my hats is just asking for trouble. When she was a baby she ate a favorite driving cap and I haven't been willing to risk any more since.

What to wear with a fedora....

I've always liked hats and caps. Especially since my hair started thinning, they are protection as well as fashion. I wear panamas, straw hats or caps in the summer and felt driving caps and hats in cooler weather. And I wear T-shirts and jeans when doing yard work or woodworking . . . plus...

    Paragon hat co.

Oh, man! Now there's a hat just bursting with testosterone. ;-)

Oh, I like that one! Just the ticket for the coming season.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Since I went outside and practiced my fly casting, I wore a thirty-year-old version of a Stetson outdoors fedora. Today it's called a "Three Forks". When I bought it, it was called the archer's hat.

Dancing with the stars meets TFL

With the exception of "Castle" on Monday nights, the only television I've watched for years is PBS, and only the science series of that. (Well, Antiques Roadshow, too.) ;)

Dancing with the stars meets TFL

I can usually figure out who the "token old guy/gal" is. The younger ones, especially the sports types, are beyond me.

Is it a bowler... or a homburg..? Or something else...?

An interesting hat, indeed, but one must wonder where in the world you would have occasion to wear it? It certainly is out of place in 21st Century SoCal. Ah for the days when men knew how to dress!

    Stetson Fur Felt Homburg Hat

Really? I'll need to spend more time surfing eBay,then. I really want a Homburg but since I have so little use for formal wear buying a good one new would be a complete waste of money. A pearl grey one is just the ticket to top off the men's formal daywear called a 'stroller'.

Johnny Depp influence: Wisconsin bankers want no hats

My local bank has a beautifully open, sun-lit interior with pretty tellers sitting behind the counter to assist you--behind an inch of armor glass! How the hell anyone could possibly stick that place up baffles me.
