Like Big_e said chec out the chart first. I would also add that it'll depend on a couple of factors. Not only your facial proportions but your body proportions. Mix that in with how you normally dress each day and your personal tastes & preferences. But the chart is a good place to start. Also...
For Rusty & Jimmy, My Stetson Royal Deluxe.:D Not an Open Road or Stratoliner, just a generic Stetson with the thin ribbon that could pass for either hat. This bad boy is super soft & pliable. Kind of hart to tame the brim sometimes, so I just let it do its thing. I'm guessing this is from the...
JB: You might want to take a look at ebay and type in Stetson Open Road. You will get a bunch of vintage show up but you will also get a slew of newer hats in the mix as well. The liner on the newer Open Roads I have seen have sort of a water mark in them. As far as taper goes just look at the...
I know I posted elsewhere but it belongs here too, I know Rusty & Jimmy would agree.;) I bought this one on ebay I think back in 2006. It was NOS from around the late 1950's and had never been worn or creased. The store it was originally sold at is still in Phoenix, AZ. I believe it is a place...
Jimmy, Rusty & Lefty, thank you very much for the kind words. I've just felt inspired lately.
Yeah, most of you I think got used to the whiskers, so with the lack thereof I understand you being thrown off. :D
I will have more here over the next few days as well.
Cheers!

Well that season is getting closer to be able to break out my Woorich mackinaw. I figure about one more month if we don't have an Indian Summer. :D
Cheers!

Thank you Jimmy! The actual color is just a tad darker than what is shown there in the sunlight. The original was a bit of a light grey/mauve with some rose undertones. I would have loved to see this hat when it was new. Art did a fantastic job fixing it for me.
Cheers!

Thank you very much! Fortunately this was one of those plain old cowboy hats I bought in the early 90's before I headed off to school & used while I did rodeo. Got stomped on a couple of times too. Rock solid felt that has stood the test of time and got a new life to boot.
Thank you Frank...
This one is my Knox. I had Art do some minor work on it, just replacing the sweatband. This crown shape seems to be the only one that it will accept. No front pinch, so I just let it take its natural course.
Inside
Cheers!

Walk tall & own the look, there is no reason one shouldn't wear the hat they like & not feel foolish or even flamboyant. In our area there are enough cowboys in wide brimmed hats where this doesn't even come close to standing out. There are even several that wear this Elko style here too...
