Restored (rescued) Vintage Resistol Open Road clone

My "new" (to me) vintage Resistol, freshly restored by Paris Hatters (more pics and details in the "new hat" thread). It is hard to get the color right with indoor lighting, but it is a medium brown or even a taupe - a shade lighter than my Akubra Campdraft in Taupe Fawn.

I don't know if this is of much help or not, but "Byer-Rolnick" markings would be prior to the late 1960s as Resistol was sold around 1966-67 (I work with someone who is related to Harry Rolnick).
I don't know about a stretch, but it's a fairly generous 7-1/2 (a 7-3/8 Milan Strat they had in a different color was a little tight). I normally take a 7-3/8, but can usually wear a 7-1/2, other than a long-oval (I guess I am between sizes), but I even tried to pad this one and it always felt...
