I'd be willing to bet that the original jacket, if it's still in existence, has disappeared into a private-private collection.
If I had a heavy-duty sewing machine I'd buy a banged up Schott, remove the lining, adjust the belt slightly and replace the buckle, and taper the torso a bit and call...

^ Sounds like a rotten seller... too bad about the condition, but I reckon many of these old jackets are really only useful as museum pieces or as templates for a custom jacket commission.

what has worked for me (your mileage may vary) is to hang up smelly gear outside on warm/hot dry days preferably windy days, my experience has been 3 days of that helps a lot, then do a dry clean

Honestly, if you want a coat that seals up well in bad weather, then a duffle coat is not the best choice. Toggles and a hood without drawstring are not ideal.
