I would recomend Daddyos.com they have a lot of nice reproduction dresses. many of them have pencil skirts, that won't work for swing but the fuller ones would work wonderfully for you.
I have lots and lots of hair. And I once red that the best way to get a vintage deep side part is to place the part right above the highest point of the arch of your eye brow. This means it changes person to person, but it works great for me.
Well ladies you have officiall freaked me out I don't wanna loose my length I am quite attached to it. So I am going to go lighter red and see how that goes, we will see.
The roots are why I hesitate, my hair grows really fast also. I hate seeing my dark peek through I should do it like ever 10 days or so if I wanted to keep it 100% covered but I wait and like you do 3 weeks.I hate looking like I have a highway down my head and not a part.
I think it is loreal it's called Intense Red Copper or Intense Copper Red ( I can never remember the order of the last two words) I honestly know the picture and the name of the color I am pretty sure it is Loreal but it could also be Revlon. But my natural dark hair gets a lot of copper in it...
Oh I wouldn't even think to do it on my own. I am not afraid to do red at home but bleach is different. I might do my roots on my own but that would be it. And my red doesn't fade fast at all. It takes about 3ish weeks before it starts to fade and at that point it's time for roots any way. And I...
Ok so I have been on here a lot and looking at vintage hair styles and I am desperately wanting my hair to be platinum blond. I have always loved the color of Jean Harlow's hair. I wanted to know what the ladies who are platinum think of it and those of you who have been think of it as well...
Wow that makes me uncomfortable to say the least. I mean I never thought it was right that he got a quick and easy death after waht did to all those people but I also don't like the idea of him getting away either.
:offtopic: I know I love that dress. I wish it hadn't gotten left behind in Cuba when the family left. But my boyfriends mom (both of his parents are Cuban) Had a very similar dress for here wedding that was a copy of her mother's dress, from the island, which I might add look nearly identical...
Panache thank you.... I did make some waves at the party. Most of the ladies were wearing little black dresses (and looked lovely I might add), but bright green on a red head that is 5 foot 9 is a bit noticable. But a few people thought I had been in a play and came straight there. It was fun.

In the 1940s they wore metallic shoes mostly gold but silver too. they just weren't as common. My guess would be that they were expensive. And you know what if you want Gold shoes bask in the fact that you are alive now and can get them easily.
I am dressed up most days but because of my job I have to wear dress slacks most days. But my tops are almost all vintage reproductions or hint to vintage, and my hair is usually vintage.
Your hair turned out beautifully. I couldn't do that wih my hair. I am naturally curly and if I put perm rods in my hair well lets jsut say the world would be affraid to see the restults. But it looks wonderful on you.
