Ok a couple of quick shots, still busy with the whole holiday season. Still shouldn't grumble, good to spend time with friends and relatives.
Christmas day:
Boxing day, in a local pub after the usual 3 mile walk along the Thames, to burn off a few of the previous days calories...
Cheers Banky
Your hat exactly resembles the hat in several of the scenes, but seems darker than it appears in others.
Is it just lighting/over exposure or is it a different hat. I wonder.
What colour felt was yours?
Many thanks
Blows dust of old thread.
I'm thinking of getting onevof these fedoras made, but wanted some advice regarding the felt colour, it seems to change dramatically, depending on the light.
I was thinking of a sand like colour, do you agree?
Thanks
I'm sure you're right, it just doesn't look thick enough, movie magic perhaps. I guess I was hoping for a pseudo cav edge replacement. Surely there must be something better than an underwhelt?
Another Public Enemies Thread
I'm sure this has been discussed before but a search threw up nothing. I'm intrigued by the brim treatment on Depp's fedora. It looks like a Cavanagh edge, but that's not possible...can anyone shed some light?
Cheers

And a view of the same...
I asked Mike to make me an Indy style fedora. I wasn't looking for it to match any particular scene. I just wanted a hat with an Indy vibe.
I think mike delivered.
I'm sorry I couldn't help myself. It was halloween, there was a jeep and I was wearing a brown fedora. I know I'm not helping to rid us of the curse of Indiana Jones and for that I am truely sorry.
With my abject apologies, I give you another fedora a jungle:

I own hats by Art Fawcett, John Penman, Mike at Northwest Hats and an Akubra. My Advintage stands comparison with my customs. It, perhaps, does not quite reach the standards of my best customs but is a massive improvement on the Akubra, for only a relatively small increase in price. I love it...
I'm really enjoying this thread.
Yesterday my family and I visited Cliveden, famous for it's place in the 'Profumo Affair'. I spy scandal that rocked the conservative government in the 1960's. The house itself was covered in scaffolding as it undergoes refurbishment. However here are some...
