...prefer a looser fit than the "traditional fit" (many folks do, and that is cool), I got to agree with the others. It does look a little long on the sleeves.
If you are determined to keep it, then perhaps some hotwatertreatment on the arms may be good.
It would help the lay of the collar, too.
...slightly long, but with wear and wrinkles, they’ll shorten slightly and the fit will seem just fine.
Several have mentioned the HotWaterTreatment. I would wait several months, and then ONLY if you feel very lucky, try the HWT on the sleeves only. I did the HWT once on an entire jacket, and...
Would any of us really wear our jackets in that dystopian hell hole? Doubt it. The radiation would make our jackets pretty much unwearable. Unless we periodically performed HDRWT, (hot de-rediation watertreatment). When perusing Soviet flight jackets it's safer to buy post '86..
I'll have to look into it more. I've never done a hotwatertreatment. Is it just dipping in hotwater and then letting air dry to see how much shrinkage you get? Or is there longer term soaking? Or are we talking boiling and running in the dryer on high for a weekend <JK>
...of long term storage. I've even seen zipper marks "embossed" on the leather.
In my many years of lurking here I've read about hotwatertreatment to shape new collars, and also various ways of washing leather jackets. I hope somebody can answer two questions about how this applies to...
Hello all, I have been beta testing the A-1 for some time now and have really given it rough treatment. It has held up to everything I have thrown at it. I decided to do a HWT on the jacket to bring out more grain, and to shrink it a little as it was a little big on me. The results were...
Having cleaned many hats using naphtha, water, and various other things, a few things:
You are still cleaning a "fabric." It's fur felt and different from cotton or polyester, but many of the same principles apply. While you should take care, it ain't rocket surgery.
Naptha isn't a magic...
Here's a search for the HWT topics. Since so much has been written already, no sense it trying to sum it up. Lots here, so have a look.

I know there's someone out there just the right size for this nice A-1.. :) To save it from my clutches, and the dreaded hotwater / hot dryer treatment.....
Price Drop to $275.00 Shipped Priority Mail / Delivery Confirmation (USA)
If this doesn't find the jacket a new home, I...
...long in the sleeves and the body. Shaul offered to alter it for me when I emailed him but I decided to roll the dice and try the hotwatertreatment instead...
Luck was on my side this time, and the HWT worked beautifully. The jacket shrunk down to the size I wanted and the grain popped out...
...clone treatment, you can see some darker dye in the creases of the jacket and the grain is more pronounced from the initial hotwatertreatment i am guessing. Would have been interesting to see the leather before the treatment.
Good luck with the new jacket Pdxgeo, DD must be getting more...
I've been buying leather jackets for many years now, and still get confused over shoulder measurements. My shoulders actually measure-out to 20", but it seems that when I've ordered the 20" measurement, I most always end-up with some shoulder-droop. I recently picked-up a nice, 2nd-hand, Good...
No it started out as dark dark brown. I don't wear it that much- but I did subject it to a hotwatertreatment when I first got it. (Not recommended.) I believe the hwt sped up the fading process faster.
I thought about it but I tend to only stand in the rain by accident - currently it's getting some indoor, mild, hotwatertreatment. Just to give it a little work until I can really start wearing it.
I didn't know what you were asking. I'm only familiar with the term hotwatertreatment. I've never done it and not sure what it does. No issues with the jacket or seller. I got one of my favs from the seller and just did a trade on another jacket.
The surface on this jacket is like...
