    I guess what makes the whole aniline thing more confusing is that most leather jackets we discuss on this forum are aniline dyed rather than pigment dyed, but when finished are waxed/oiled/hot stuffed etc, to give them some water resistance.     ...and wind. Still have not breaked it in but I'm working on it. I still haven't shaped the collar yet but. . . I remembered what @handymike mentioned about shaping collars and now here it goes. The hot water treatment really does work wonders. I think I have the shape where I want it to be.
