Pretty good. They have a lot of nice western hats. Mostly a cowboy hat maker. They have a number of open crowns felt hats made up and open crown straw hats ready to bash. There are a few that are close to fedoras and one old open road style probably vintage hat on the wall.
Seem to be big...
Congrats on the hat.
1. I wear both 58 and 59 sometimes. None of the newer Akubras have shrunk signifcantly. One really old one in 59, either sold under another name, Statesman, or maybe a predecessor to Akubra has shrunk a couple of sizes. 59 is the safer bet. I either put trips of felt...
Resistol conversion with new 5/8" ribbon by local place, Shorty's Caboy Hattery. This is the one that was squished badly by Fed Ex. Had brim trimmed earlier by Schafer Hat works. Below is condition it arrived in.
You can lower the crown quite a bit. You may have to make a little dome in the top. I use the back of my hand or a kids toy ball to shape the dome. Shaping is best done with spritzing/spraying distilled water on Akubras rather than steam. Search for Zombie_61's posts and you will see much...
My next hat is going to be a navy Phoenix it is currently being constructed by Rick.
I am going tone on tone on this one. I am always drawn to hats that are matching ribbon and felt but I have so far wound up ordering ones with at least some contrast.
Great quality photos. What brand and model of camera do you use? I assume it is not a phone camera. Your pictures always impress me with the clarity and color. Do you do any processing of the photos, if so what software do you use?
I wear a 7 1/4 and bought a Hemp Strat in Sand from Monaville Cowboy. It is pretty big. More than a 1/2 size I think. I say its probably at least a 7 3/8, I have quite a bit of felt spacer material in it. I stumbled onto a brown pre-owned one cheap in 7 1/8. It fits well. It would not...
But if we only needed one hat, there would be more room in the closets and our wives would be happy about that and fill all that available space with stuff that is much less cool than fedoras. Like shoes or something. I also try to argue that the things I buy can be resold when I am dead...
I kinda like pumpkin coffee and beer. One local pumpkin beer will make you question your choice but then it will put big smile on your face until tomorrow. However I can't imagine that inhaling burning pumpkin spice would be desirable in any way.
You all are making me thirsty!
Walnut modern strat. Ginger Beer and dark rum (or the only rum I had on hand) for a dark and stormy. May have to get some Bermudan Black Seal Rum and do a taste test or three.
I am not in the know on the ownership of Harps. I did notice that Dunhill pipe...
