The arms are a little large (except for the actual cuff which is virtually too tight to even button with anything on my wrists), but the body is definitely fitted.
I'm 5'10", 198. Hope it works out for you. After getting the 42L on yesterday I don't think I could fit in the 40L size, but of course measurements are more accurate than sizes alone.
Vintage Lee Storm Rider just came in. I like the fit a lot. They sure did make these shorter back in the day though, which is a welcome discovery since I find most jackets sold these days are overly long. This is tagged a 42L and it comes to just about where I like a slim fit jacket like this...
The battered leather selection from Aero is one that definitely intrigues me and one I don't see enough of. I would love to see more examples and pics of any color of battered or tumbled leathers.
What BS. They can't legally prevent someone from selling something 2nd hand that is authentic and if eBay allows that type of control, then this is the end of them.
I agree, 23" is very small for a 44. That's a proper size 42. For a 44" chest, anywhere from 24-25" should be right. Don't worry, you're in good hands with Wested.
They knew it was lamb, just the patterns and the 100% exact tannery source was lost in time.
They specialize in film jackets along with Magnoli clothiers.
That's what happens when the world has been on fire...
I recently picked up 2 jackets. First is from Banana Republic I got for $50 and the sherpa lined corduroy is made by Denim & Flower and bought at Marshalls for $25. Pretty good deals I think. I also have a Bravestar Ironside in Cone...
From what I know, they didn't really keep tabs on what was used for the films, not really knowing decades later there would be a high demand for screen accurate Indy jackets. Heck, I think even the patterns were thrown away until someone (not from Wested) copied the patterns from a screen worn...
That's likely true for the feel of the leather, but the color they have available is a lighter color than what I see on screen, so I went with the washed lamb which is definitely a darker shade. That's personal preference though. The actual leather used is not available from Wested anymore and...
No, this is the "washed lamb". Shrunken lamb tends to be a bit lighter brown from what I've seen and I wanted something more like dark chocolate, which is what I see for the most part in the Raiders film.
Here is my washed lamb from Wested. I would have words with anyone who thinks this leather is not any good just because it's lambskin. But like Harris above says, you can get their jackets in whatever leather they have in stock. Don't be afraid to buy from them.
I think the many people on the Club Obi-Wan forum would disagree with the posters here on what lambskin offers. Yes, if you buy it from mall brands the leather is usually sub par and very thin, but there are makers out there that use lambskin appropriately and the authentic, accurate Indy...
