Van,
Congrats on the new jacket! It looks fantastic! I have been looking forward to some pics of this one. The fit looks great, and the leather looks rich and beautifully grained. I'm glad this worked out so well for you.
My wife may kill me, but I eventually want to get an Enfield in...
For what it's worth, for anyone who feels like the price is too high, there is always the secondhand market. You won't be getting a custom made fit, but you don't get that with most jackets anyway.
I completely understand those that say that the new prices are more than they are willing to...
I am on my 3rd Carhartt Detroit Jacket, and I can't imagine life without one. It's such a tough, yet good looking piece that I think I will always feel the need to have one.
The one thing that I have noticed is that the fit seems to change a bit over the years. My original was a darker...
I assumed the pleats were a standard feature when I ordered my halfbelt a few months ago. I would strongly urge you to be specific in your order - if you don't want pleats, make that clear when you give the order details.
Beautiful jacket - I love the length and the overall look. You have me seriously considering adding a windflap to the jacket I have ordered.
I have a similar jacket on order with Aero - a size 44, Brown FQHH, 1" longer in the body, half belt variant called the "Ace" with zip cuffs, a 30's HB...
If you click on the link to PoohBang's website (www.poohbang.com) and read his review of his jacket, you will see that his jacket is a little differnet in color because he supplied his own horsehide. Aero may have a similar color, but his was a one off.
PoohBang, feel free to correct me if...
All I know is that it's really, really, hard to find a quality MC jacket in brown leather. Heck, let's upgrade that to damned near impossible!
That's half the reason I finally broke down and ordered an Aero - just os I could get what I wanted in BROWN.
As to the original point of this...
Well, I've been meaning to update this thread for a while, but I keep forgetting to.
I have been wearing the jacket around the house, and playing with the straps (it's my Christmas present, so I'm not really supposed to be wearing it, but my wife is a patient one....) Anyhow, I have...
I bought it on eBay from a fantastic seller that lives about an hour from me. He actually has a few others up on eBay right now, going for terrific prices.
I am wearing it with the adjustment straps almost all the way out because when I cinched them in, the midle of the jacket bulged out at the sides to the point that I almost appeared to be circular in the middle. However, I am okay with the fit with the straps loosened.
And I forgot to...
THanks for allof your comments everybody! I really appreciate it, and just experiencing an Aero for the first time is a pretty amazing experience. It definitely lives up to the sterling reputation that their products have.
I guess my concern about the fit is coming from a few things -first...
Okay folks - I am really excited! I just scored a fantastic deal on a basically unused Aero Zip Sleeve Highwayman. I am almost at a loss for words - I am just that blown away with the quality, the workmanship, and that amzing leather!
I paid for the jacket two days ago, and now here it is...
Engineer boots are a classic, and a personal favorite of mine. They are plenty stylish in my opinion, and I tend to get lots of compliments whenever I wear mine. I suppose that is not a good judgement of whether they are "in style", but it at least is a good gauge of public reaction to them...
It's interesting that you mention the collars on jackets. I was looking at buying a Vanson Enfield, but I couldn't get over the gimpy looking little collar. I just ordered my Highwayman, so I haven't experienced the Aero collar yet, but it looks like it's the right size and shape.
I really...
All right!!
I finally placed my order with Aero USA yesterday!
One more quick question, and I think I will be all set with my order!
My questions is this - do any of you feel like the band of leather at the bottom of the Highwayman causes the jacket to slightly "puff out" in the middle...
Hey all, thanks for all the fantastic advice.
I'm almost there, but I just wanted to ask - has anybody here used their Non-action back (no bi-swing) jacket for MC riding? How well did it work?
I am stuck between form and function here - I really like the look of the Non-action back...
Is it expensive to call Aero directly on a cellphone? I am a little concerned about the overseas charges.
It's nice to hear that the wait might be shorter - I was expecting 3 months minimum.
Also, is it cheaper to order from them directly? I have heard several people say that an Aero can...
It's also worth noting hte difference between dressing "unusually" and dressing "inappropriately".
Average people may find what you wear unusual, but not inappropriate.
Again, it comes down to how comfortable you are with your style. I will admit that I don't like having to constantly...
