Hi
Sorry if I am reposting this reply.
I just received a Vanson Model AR new with tags. I don’t think it’s from this year. I send a e mail over to Vanson with the Serial Number. Hope they can help when made. The leather is Thick and Heavy. I think heaver then my Schott 141.
Here is my New Vanson Model AR. No Zip In Liner Style. The Leather is Or Feels so Thick. The Jacket can actually stand up by itself.
So far as Nice as My Schott Horsehide Jacket.
I just acquired a Vanson AR Jacket. The Leather is so Thick and Heavy. I sent in the Serial Number to Nick at Vanson to see if he can tell me when made. For sure not in the 80-90’s but I don’t think made lately.
I post pictures when I get back home. Thank You for sharing your expectancies Very...
Very Nice Find! Do you know anything about the History of Lesco. I know they used heavy leather and High Quality Hard Wear making their Jackets. Look like from the 1970’s?
Yes has a Schott Label. I made a mistake in the last post wanted to say Schott. I also see Lesco Jackets with the same style. I just find it funny who came out with the style first? This is a Lesco Made Jacket. Looks the same?
You are So Lucky to get to go to Japan and then try on all the manufacturers that are located in Japan.
I just Love the Horsehide Leather and Color of your Jacket.
I looked into the cause of the wrinkling. From what I found out that usually that leather is from the under belly of the animal. So like I said they have to use the hole hide so they in your jacket decided to use it to make the Collar.
I would say thinner. I know they have to use the hole hide in making a jacket but my Collar has the Thickest of the leather that was used. I seen this before in Red Wing and Wolverine Heritage boots. And I have some of my other Schott jackets with the same condition happening.
