Thank you Deacon211 for recommending the Cooper G-1. I found this low-priced beauty on the 'Bay; it's in excellent condition and the 46 Long fits me perfectly. I love the juxtaposition of the blue/gold commercial label atop the military-issue white Navy supply system label (dated 2001). The...
Here is one of my all-time favorites: what they refer to as the "vintage G-1" from The Cockpit. Great patina and burnishing of the vintage-looking goatskin but in a new garment. Fit is much like a 1950's or '60's G-1: narrow sleeves, snug/form-fitting torso and a relatively shorter waist, plus a...
That Hellcat jacket looks ok but seems a bit overpriced. For comparison, the US Wings "Wings of Gold" jacket looks like a good option:

The Cockpit makes a really nice vintage G-1 in a washed (?) super-grainy goatskin. It's available with repro vintage-style aviation patches but I got the plain unpatched version. Very nice jacket with tons of character.
Just to add my two cents about current-issue Navy shipboard deck jackets (I just retired from the Navy after 26 years): the top one is a flame-resistant Aramid cloth jacket (very warm and comfortable) that I wore the last 3 years that I worked on deck aboard Navy cargo/supply ships. The bottom...
I have both a LW and a US Authentic A-2 in horsehide. While the heavy chrome tanned hides are very similar, I'm not sure that they are exactly the same. The LW has a much more pronounced leather smell (intoxicating!) and the high spots (seams, elbow-area creases, etc) have had the top coat...
Here are some photos of WWII ATC pilots who "flew the Hump" (flew supplies and troops over the Himalayan Mountains in a variety of cargo planes). Interesting that in the bottom photo the pilot has added the CBI patch right over the official Army Air Forces shoulder insignia.
I just picked up this US Authentic HH A-2 from a fellow Lounger and I absolutely love it! Fits very well and has my favorite squadron patch on it (India-China Wing, ATC) plus a CBI shoulder patch on the upper left sleeve.
The seal HH is thick and robust yet very broken in and flexible. The grain...
Jacket is a bit more russet brown than pictured. Real mouton colar. Leather is soft and supple; a great bang-around jacket that has most of the features of the original mil-spec G-1 jackets.

Nice condition; my posted Buy-it-now price is $169 on the 'Bay but will take $140 or best reasonable offer from any lounge member.
Give Steve Sellers (The Greatest Generation clothing) a try. He posts here regularly and has done some incredible custom jacket work, using many different types of leather. He made me a gorgeous custom M-422a from russet French goatskin and it is sublime...
