    Japanese flag pricing

I have to ask, in the US isn't a thrift store a place where donated clothes and bric-a-brac are sold to, and for the benefit of, the poor? If so what's a high-end militaria item doing there at such a price?

    J. Edgar - New Flm with Leonardo DiCaprio

I too have a growing respect for his work, which has improved since the days he 'looked like a 13-year-old lesbian" (Camille Paglia), and he does seem to favour the period pics, so this would have to interesting with Eastwood at the helm....

OK buddy, what is this block called?

No, both, but I only sell top-shelf stuff when I find it, like the goldmining book I recently got for 50c and sold for $800, the old 'turnover is everything' mantra doesn't apply to online business unless you can have economies of scale, for a individual who lives nearly 10 miles from a post...

    Any exotic hide experts?

Picked up these very nice Larry's on the bay, but the seller didn't know exactly what skin it is, the ridge seems to rule out snake, some local lizard perhaps? and while we're at it, any ideas on these? Gila?

Pepe Lo Moko right now on TCM

In that case gentleman can I recommend this book, it's an eye-opener! Written 1949, not too hard to find, very faux-racy tabloid style but the facts are very interesting. VILLAINY UNLIMITED by Derick Goodman "A shocking picture of the French underworld"

L.A. Times: How Premium Denim Is Made

what a load of bollocks: I'm sorry, no wonder the west is in decline, that amount of research, technology, and plant dedicated to such an irrelevant frippery, buy 'em new and wear em till they fade, or better still, buy a 2ND-HAND pair from the likes of me...

    Double-brim adventure hats

To quote Wiki The slouch hat or Terai hat is also associated with the Gurkha regiments of the British Army and Indian Army (formerly the British Indian Army) and is still worn by the Gurkhas; the hat is no longer worn on active service. The 2nd Gurkha Rifles became the first Gurkha regiment to...

    Jumpin Jacket

Picked this up for $25 on the bay, a suede Levi 3/4 coat, with genuine kangaroo fur collar, made here in Aus, best guess is 70's, there's no lining, and the sleeve ends are pretty roughly finished which makes me think it's a 2nd, but a fine thing nonetheless, and haven't seen one for about 40...

    Double-brim adventure hats

Here's some info I found on COW a while back on Heston's "Secret of the Incas" wardrobe: Hat (was not a fedora) - Australian military hat (late 40s, early 50s model). This particular model had a peculiar "double brim". Stewart Granger wears an identical model (but with lighter colored band)in...
