I have a cologne for each season.
Winter -- Burberry Brit
Spring -- Acqua di Gio by Armani
Summer -- Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana
Fall -- John Varvatos Vintage
Thanks for clearing that up.
Glad you like it! And you don't have to worry about me getting more and more leather jackets; they're not cowboy boots :D. Unlike jackets, cowboy boots are what I have to be on guard about or else I'll find myself in the poorhouse! ;)
Forgot to say, I'm glad y'all like my jacket! :D
Now I've just thought of something . . . was I mistaken in referring to my jacket as a bomber jacket and not as a flight jacket? It seems like for some folks "bomber jacket" and "flight jacket" are interchangeable, but I've also heard that those...
Yeah, I was kinda concerned about how it should fit. I didn't want anything too tight; however, I had heard so-called authorities on men's fashion say that oversized leather jackets looked too Top Gun-ish and dated and that you should wear a more snug-fitting one. So while with other winter...
I got this leather jacket off eBay in January. It's not brand new, but it's not anywhere near old enough to be considered truly vintage. At any rate, the brand is Cockpit, and it's made in the USA. I love it; you just don't see too many brown bomber jackets anymore!
Already shown these boots in this thread a while back, but I figured since I was wearing them today I'd do it again. They're Red Wing 875s.
Here's the rest of my outfit (which you can also see in my new thread in the "outerwear" section of this forum):
The only time it would be ok to do that is if it were really muddy or if, as Bamaboots stated, if you were in the presence of barnyard acids. But even then it would only look right if your cowboy boots were work-type boots (which are usually a little shorter than standard cowboy boots). In...
Perhaps these boots aren't vintage enough, but I got 'em for Christmas. They're tan mad dog goat Lucchese Since 1883 (brown label -- made in USA). I had that same style once upon a time but with narrow snip toes. I didn't like the way it looked; I was a die-hard medium round toe guy. But I...
Funny you should mention athletic socks . . . although I wear boot socks with my boots, not too long ago (before I had discovered boot socks), I had a few pairs of old school long tube socks with stripes at the top that I wore exclusively with my boots. Hey, it was out of the ordinary, and no...
Thanks!
Because when it comes to boots, we all need at least one pair of sh*t-kickers in our wardrobe! ;-) Lucchese FQ ostrich boots don't serve that purpose.
I originally posted this in the work boot thread, but since the Red Wing 1155s are essentially cowboy work boots, I'm reposting here too:
I recently sold 2 pairs of western work boots on eBay -- Chippewa Arroyos and Red Wing 2231s, respectively. I'd had my eye on replacements for them for some...
Having sold my Chippewa Arroyos and Red Wing 2231s on eBay, this afternoon I went to the Red Wing store and bought the 2 boots I said I was gonna get!
First, the 1155s:
Then the 875s, which I even wore out of the store:
Pardon the dog hair that I only just now noticed on one of the...
Earlier I said I wanted to add either a pair of Red Wing 875s or a pair of Thorogood 814-4200s to my wardrobe, and I added that I might sell the Red Wing Pecos 2231 boots that I currently have. Well, I've decided to go with the 875s, and I also realized I want a pair of Red Wing 1155s (I had a...
I have eBay auctions for 3 different pairs of boots:
A pair of Lucchese Since 1883 (brown label) dark brown goatskin boots in size 11D: http://www.ebay.com/itm/331721646802?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
A pair of Red Wing Pecos pull-on steel toe work boots in size 11D...
Thank you!
I also have a confession to make -- I've always thought Timberland's classic tan nubuck lace-up work boots look cool. However, the fact that they've become inextricably associated with . . . ahem . . . hip-hop, "thug life," etc. has become a major turn-off for me. I'd probably feel...
This thread is the perfect excuse for me to show off my rather-new-to-me pair of boots!
Red Wing Iron Rangers boots in amber harness (style 8111) worn with J. Crew camp socks -- I originally took those photos for another "what are you wearing today" thread on another forum.
And those...
Not very vintage, but I didn't want to be left out. :p
This was from yesterday:
LL Bean Shetland sweater
J. Crew Secret Wash button-down
Levi's 505 jeans
Dickies belt
Polo Ralph Lauren socks
vintage (in the sense that they're from roughly 25 years ago and made in the USA)...
Just added another pair of boots to my collection! Yesterday the teenage son of a friend gave me a pair of boots that no longer fit him (his dad must have suggested me to him, as he knows I wear boots). They're Chippewa western work boots --
Initially, when my friend's son first asked me...
