LOL. Too many jackets. To be fair though, this one is a little thinner and more of a fall/spring jacket. So it's not getting a lot of wears now as Los Angeles until this week has really been on the colder side (like 40-55 f. ). Mostly been shearling and the heavier jackets. But another 2...
My last 3 Cals and a Vanson have gone to Europe and every time I quote the shipping price, I think they think I'm trying to scam them. If you can cram it into a smaller box, not a lot of packing materials, etc, it's about $80-85 for US to most of Western Europe. The prepaid boxes are more...
with a 19 shoulder (assuming that's right) you can expect 23ish on PTP. He said 20-21 chest and 46 ptp. So who knows, obviously he got the terminology reversed, but the numbers don't add up. I think closer to 46 chest & 23 ptp is in line with the 19 shoulder.
That's a beauty though. I...
A few of these jackets posted are part of @Kubatu massive sale. Items for sale by when2899 | eBay If you're a size small, you could have a field day and there's an occasional larger size like that Terminator jacket.
If you're going to have Dena redo the zipper, do the shrinki treatment before. Once she puts in a new zipper or adjusts it or whatever, you can reverse the wave effect. A good soak and hot dryer will get you a half to full size. Careful with the sleeves though as they look about right.
fantastic. I have one of the 3 sixteen/schott collabs and this jacket looks pretty much the same (minus the horween teacore leather and no epaulettes on the 3-16). The one in the photo looks like steerhide, I don't think lambskin wears like that.
LOL, yep this. If you don't want to sew in shoulder pads, then do some outer deltoid exercises to give you the lift you need.
Obviously lots of jackets fit different people different ways. But I know Aero has been a common theme on certain designs. My Ridley though, absolutely love it...
I have a similar line you show in your example on my FL route 66. That one I'm ok with because it's one line. And funny enough, the shoulder pad technique will fix that too, but I'm not going to mess with it. And Ton's example, I have almost the same with my Aero racer. Totally happy with it...
I've gotten past a few stray lines and what not, but for my taste it was more than that. Also, besides visual, it just wasn't comfortable to wear. So for me was win win. Cost $5. I'm beyond happy. I loved loved loved the leather and overall package.. so saved me a lot of time,, money...
I kind of posted this elsewhere but there's a different discussion going on and it got buried. It's too important imo not too highlight because a lot of us have the aero fit issue of too much tension on the neck and creating crease lines that shoot from the neck diagonally towards the armpits...
I'd like to nominate @MrProper for nobel peace prize. Check out this before/after. I added a sock across my shoulder, essentially creating lift. While I will neither confirm nor deny having added socks to other parts of my clothing for various reasons  I can confirm this is game...
I hear ya. That's why I put it in quotes. I've made my expectations a lot more reasonable from where I started. I'm ok with some stray lines, a fit that I can properly breathe in, etc. etc. But that clump of material creasing like that isn't necessarily a question of fit. It doesn't look...
yes, the excess material gathering is the problem. That's why when the jacket is closed, it's not as bad because there's pull to keep things taut. I'm going to try some padding in the shoulder to give some lift to see what happens (great idea, thanks). Wondering if a tailor can tweak without...
So here's a comparison shot and maybe someone can pick up on the variables, but I'm leaning towards some sort of human error and variance when constructing. As far as the sheene/cafe racer, it's a very unforgiving pattern.
Sheene 23 ptp 18.5 shoulder
Racer 23.25 ptp, 18.75 shoulder and gussets...
that's awesome, Jin. I love the one I have sans sherpa (the one that is a little longer and I'm keeping, not the one I'm selling LOL). Occasionally I look for one with the sherpa lining, but they're hard to find. You see more of the storm rider version with the different collar and the...
