Only the most expensive motorcycle gear is full Kanga.
I have only ever seen one jacket made from full croc or alligator. It was in a Paris department store/boutique alleries Lafayette if I remember), all alarmed up of course and at around €5000. Purely for Hollywood or that sort of thing.
I...
Pigskin was once one of the top hides for suitcases, wallets etc. Not seen so much now. I have a briefcase with a Concord sticker on it though it is a little damaged, and yes, quite shiny. I am reluctant to try to restore it though as the Concord sticker may be damaged or have to be removed...
Fair comment mate.
There will always be folks whom will try it on. What really bugs me is the way eBay/Paypal 99% of the time will side with the buyer. I feel they feel it is easier to keep a customer happy than a seller though both are needed as a team so to speak. Taking away the right of a...
How about this one from the dreaded Paypal thieves.
I sold a pin badge to someone in Canada(i'm in the UK) only a total of £13, the seller left me positive feedback so I left same for them. At the very limit of the transaction resolution centre claim limit, the buyer told Paypal that the item...
Thought about that too as it does say "Property Air Force US ARMY". Were any sent for pubic auction such as the aircraft remains(at Kingman etc) or Motorcycles and clothing etc? It certainly was the case in the UK as a friend, now deceased bought an Indian motorcycle for £5 and a full Irvin suit...
I don't think it is the practice of charging for the services, it is really a matter of they take too much.
Charging listing and final value fair enough, Paypal taking a share to use their service? Hmmmm! Surely they take the money and invest it to make money, just like a bank. The only really...
Anyone ever seen anything of real value on eBay? Something like an original Picasso painting, a Bugatti car( from the golden era) or rare film poster such as an original 1933 King Kong? Just 3 items from the thousands of things that still go to a live auction.
I did see an eBay auction for a...
Maybe ebay will become a victim of it's own greed and something like the old eBay will rise from the ashes.
I have sold stuff on other sites, but more and more insist on using the PayPal Goods rather than family and friends. Ebay is trying to make itself like a real shop where you can simply...
Ok, a bit off topic so I will just add this little bit.
Most of the wool panzer wraps that are worn by reenactment groups are actually a Scandinavian military jacket(Not sure which country, Sweden?). Not quite the same but near enough. probably out of date by now.
Here's a link to Google images of the most popular. As with Google Images, there are a few assorted other things in there as well ;)
avirex 1980s jacket art
There are a lot on eBay too, some sell for a reasonable price as well.
Probably the jackets that got a lot of people started on the vintage A2 trail. They had a history book come catalogue titled Cowboys in the Sky. Don't mistake it for anything really than a catalogue of their designs with some minor history, it was the only thing out there years before Gary...
Nice Jacket :)
Why on earth would anyone wear a sheepskin jacket with shorts? Then again, the shorts aren't even that stylish, they just hang.
Looks like Arnie has bruised his little toe.
I would love one, SS tank commander lookalike or not. But the style would not suit me now. Too many sausage sandwiches I'm afraid(the English lorry driver kind)
Actually the style looks a little German, but I'm thinking more fantasy Metropolis look now Mr CWangler mentions the buttons.
I used to go to the military fairs at Shoreham, picked up some bargains, a D1 for £10, good but badly torn on an arm. N1 deck jacket from the USS Lexington, another £10er, an original B3 for £110, but that was the going price for something with repairs then, but only needed a more authentic zip...
My first thought here was the 'Michael Wittmann' look though his was wool. But going deeper I suppose it is the more serious side to Herr Flick. So how do Goths get on with their look because a big part is a full length black leather coat but shod with those spiky boots rather than jackboots.
Haha Wimp:D
I bought my Eastman B3 on a hot day in June when they used to had the unofficial cold war jets as the main feature(My favourite show). I'm sure Gary will look after it for you.
Do you know if they still have a show specialising in all the MIGs, Sabre's and Shooting Stars etc? I've...
