Things That Never Seem to Change

The fact that it was still in production in India was very useful for owners in the UK. I had a 1953 Royal Enfield Bullet at one time in the seventies when I was into old Brit bikes and all the parts were still available - if perhaps not quite the quality of the originals in some cases. The...

    Diamond Clothing Co Buco J-100

I think the J100 fits slimmer. The back shot particularly. From the front there’s nothing much in it but the longer jacket gives more the illusion of being a slimmer fit. Both look good on you.

Block-Bilt: Website link-Never seen these jackets. Anyone?

It may well be a separate company with different designs and possibly even operating from a different base. Although that seems unlikely since the manufacturing expertise and skilled machinists are in one place. But the owner of SB has other interests and could run those companies for different...

FS: Jerky Horsehide Grais flight jacket

Nice looking jacket but you haven’t included a price. The zip dates it from 1954 - off the top of my head - to 1968 I believe. As to the FQHH. As I understand it all clothing HH is taken from the front quarter. Which is almost all of the horse forward of the quarters less the belly. Some parts...

    German Leather Jacket Resource

I see quite a few German coats made by Hafa Leder-kleidung for sale which translates as Hafa Leather Clothing, and there were a couple of mentions of them further up this thread. But I can’t find any information on the company. I assume it’s long defunct so does anyone know anything of its...

    Aero Steerhide

I used to rebuild 50’s Brit bikes back in the seventies as a hobby, and a friend liked my bikes and so bought himself a tatty BSA A10 650 twin which he said he was going to rebuild. I knew what he was like and warned him not to strip it down but to restore it a bit at a time. But I was wasting...

    Question about re-dyeing

I’ve refinished scuffs on old jackets I’ve bought over the decades with boot polish many times. The best stuff is renovating polish sold to cover scuffs on shoes and sold at any good shoe shop or repairers. It’s available in many colours. I mix it with a little pure neatsfoot oil to take it into...

    Question about re-dyeing

Maybe look up the Great Escape Eastman thread of a week or so ago. There was some info on wartime re dying of A2s there. Apparently they were sprayed with some sort of dye rather like paint as I remember it.

    Aero 59'er Highwayman

Have you ever heard of a Lewis brand? I had a LL jacket in the late sixties early seventies when I rode bikes, and as you posted elsewhere there were many British biker jackets in that style. But I saw some Lewis branded jackets on eBay recently which were claimed to be from the eighties. One...

It’s the home page on the left hand side where special offers are. Gallery, one up from the bottom. Maybe it isn’t displaying on your browser?

Awesome AL Cafe Racer in Black HH

You did ask for that with your pic. I’m glad to see she’s taking an interest in the threads now BTW and hasn't got her back turned. Actually I know of a couple of people on other forums I visit who have girls names as handles. One is his daughter’s name apparently and is very girly. He has...

    The Aero Mariner

They still have a customer gallery where there are a lot of pictures of different jackets posted. You have to trawl through them to find one you're interested in though. I thought that Mark Moyles showed the jackets much better on his defunct Aero US site. They were very well photographed and...

    The Aero Mariner

I’ve got a black Mariner which looks so much better in the flesh than on the Aero site. It looks really lumpy there, but worn it’s a leather peacoat style and quite elegant. Mine is well broken in though so not so elegant anymore. I think like a peacoat they look better fitted and quite trim.

New AL Roadster in FQHH Havana Brown

I agree, and on that point there are countries I choose not to buy goods from because of the way they treat their own and other citizens. But I wouldn’t post about that here because it’s not an appropriate place for it, and because it’s my choice and no one else’s. Equally I have no wish to be...

New AL Roadster in FQHH Havana Brown

Just can’t leave it alone. A new member puts up some pictures of his jacket and for a while its cool, and then the saddos start rehashing old crap and serving it up steaming hot. That caravan has moved on boys.

New AL Roadster in FQHH Havana Brown

That was a very good buy and fits well IMO. It’ll break in quite quickly with wear. I always wear a new heavy leather jacket around the house and lounge around in for a couple of days. It’s usually like a suit of armour at first and sometimes with a looser coat you can sit down on a sofa in it...

What was Lovejoy's auomobile in the TV series?

I think he wants to know the car that was loaned to him by his posh totty. I did see many of these a long time ago and have a vague memory of an Alvis convertible, but may be wrong. Perhaps if he found the episode on YouTube he could do a screen grab?
