I have a Claybourn full (calf) length, oilskin riding coat. Picked up in Melbourne in the early ‘90s. It’s an older, more traditional coat than the Drizabone
‘Borough’ jacket by Old Town. Unlined, unstructured, 3-button, patch pocket pattern in chocolate brown twill. My least favourite of my OT jackets as it’s a more boxy design.
While my favourite contract is the Perry Sportswear 23377, the best fitting jacket that I ever owned was a 27798 by Good Wear. A very stylish and forgiving contract. Lovely example, Brett.
Engineered (unlined, unstructured) jacket in beige/sand cotton twill by Old Town. This is an older jacket (older label and brass buttons) in a 4-button Edwardian style with a figured back, patch pockets. It’s no longer available, but it’s probably a forerunner of the current Marshalsea design.
As I posted earlier in the thread, I was really uncertain about deerskin, but I’m glad that I went searching, as my Freewheelers Journeyman in jet black deerskin is my favourite jacket (or coat, really). This is a stock image (plenty of them online) as it captures the sheen so well.
