I now have a 3x and 4x Beaver quality bowlers from Stetson. Both are fantastic quality with very different crown and brim dimensions. This one also had a very interesting sweat stamp. Its my first time seeing the John B. Stetson "Real Russia leather " stamp on a sweatband.
Thank you gentleman, I've got a few square crowned derbies and most of them are either a size up or down in terms of fit. This one fits perfectly. It even came with information on the original owner, a Mr. Steven Clinton Francis who purchased the hat around 1901.

I was about to bid on the flagship but forgot about it when I went out for a bite to eat. Saw what it ended at and felt better because there was no way I was winning that auction.
I did manage to land this one though.
So very interestingly enough, this bowler began its life as a much taller iteration, and was trimmed down to its shorter stature. I've included a picture of the original tag which lists the depth of the crown at a much deeper 5 1/4.
