This from the Vintage Engineer Boots guy?
Also I wonder if there’s ever a point at which you’d try to use wax or preservative? not sure what, to stop the process.
I don’t have a huge collection but I do spread my wears out…feels like I’d never put enough use in to get that look unless I gave up the others.
Perhaps my kids could though…
@Robbie79 had a favorable review of the Shangri-La one here: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/shangri—la-heritage.93220/page-6#post-2794641
Sorry I misread the OP.
However, my understanding is that Shangri-La will modify the design for low (possibly no?) cost.
Lookin good! Here it almost appears to have a cafe au lait tone...very nice.
I find these really compelling, my only concern is the idea of having to work it too much. The more I see, it seems like once you get past the starting pale / pinkish tones it looks nice all the way.
Thanks JMax! Weren’t you considering getting another one made by Vanson?
It’s definitely my most-worn “jacket” with the climate down here.
Looking forward to adding a Langlitz vest to cover the other end of the spectrum - black, snaps, no collar, etc. I bet it’s gonna get a ton of wear too
I talked with Terry and got some advice about this listing.
The price is now $425 shipped CONUS, at cost elsewhere
He suggested I list it as size 40/42. I can't change the title or original post, but please check out the measurements.
Thanks

Do people really get caught in the rain that often? I mean I live in south Louisiana and it rains A LOT but I typically am just inside when it’s coming down. Genuinely curious...
Hello and welcome Liam!
I also got the German Ranger brown swatch and almost went with it. I did find a picture of it on a jacket from Simmons Bilt here: https://simmonsbilt.com/pages/leathers
I ended up going with the Vermont because Damon said it would resist water a little better.

I’ll take any excuse heh
I do want to see if the arms shorten any with wear. Seems doubtful but I’m curious. And I’d also like to get some of the new jacket look knocked off before Fall comes.
Funny you mention the antique brass. It was my first choice then I decided I wanted the contrast.
Getting my wear in today, handling chores around the house in a crosszip like a maniac
Thanks Jin - and to be honest I’m surprised I haven’t seen you repping the JL shirt heh
Thanks Tom! I think the comfort complaints can be true - about the collar hugging my neck a bit and about the CXL - while also still really digging it.
Just doing my part to keep WJAYWT on page 1, working on the new Premier Highwayman. Temps are deadly hot today, but winter is always coming (eventually)
I have the Duke and I do like it. I’m in south Louisiana, so lighter leather is nice for extending my wearing times.
I find I prefer it with long sleeves as the leather can feel clammy against my skin.
There is a small amount of tugging involved but not a big deal. I hold the shirt sleeve...
