Fixing hat size
I have used single sheet cardboard, like the paperboard one a legal pad tablet. I cut it into strips about 3/4 wide and put it behid folded down sweatband pushed down as low as possible. I'm a 7 1/8 + and I get 7 1/4 hats and do this. Foam makes the sweatband go wonky and felt usually is too...- suitedcboy

IN the pictures it looks to me like it has gaps on both sides at temple area. I saw that one and it is a nice and unusual hat. The red liner is a new one on me in a fedora. Does that brand it as a Canadian or other non-US manufacture? The double rows of stitching on brim inside the bound edge are also something I have not seen before.- suitedcboy

Silver belly ??
I have a Stetson 100% beaver silver belly that I got 90 weight gear lube on. I dosed that spot 4 times with baby powder, cleaning the baby powder off with a brush before each new application. I was amazed that it cleaned it so well. The awful odor of that stuff is gone and I can't tell which...- suitedcboy

Wouldn't a genuine Stetson renovation use a sweatband of like quality as original? That looks like a very low grade non-reeded sweat to me. Since the liner is not Stetson I would assume the hat shop embossed it just to note it was a stetson and not their own product.- suitedcboy

I am suspicious about this one. Why cut off the "Whippet" that would have been in the liner in the photo? The ribbon looks narrow to me too. Me thinks the seller took a Whippet-esque RS and sold it as a Whippet.- suitedcboy
